Everything Else TWC / Re: General TWC Discussion

I noticed now that TWC is using 2 live footage videos from KTVT, the CBS Affiliate in Dallas and KXAS NBC.

At least it's not PRICK-TV. Oops!

OCMs & Personalities / Re: Jennifer Lopez returns to TWC

Jennifer Lopez is on WCL right now with Chris Warren.  I don't watch TWC frequently, but I didn't think she was still with the station anymore.  I guess she's just one of TWC's many freelance OCMs?

Yeah, she shows up every once in a while.

Saw some new ones today...

"Experience the highs and lows of weather."
"Keep your head up, unless we call for rain."
"We <3 U!"

Kelly sure works hard (and does an outstanding job) for a company that pushed her out. She's been doing a lot of severe weather coverage lately, and I'm growing more and more convinced that she is the best "breaking news" anchor they have. She seems to process things quickly and is able to report in a very clear and understandable way, without really stumbling at all. I guess that kind of ability comes from experience, and she certainly has a lot of it.  They need to bring her back full time - she'd make a great co-anchor for Mike Bettes on evenings.

Holy cow! TWC just switched to full storm alert mode before my very eyes. They finally brought back the black L-bar with the red logo.

I noticed a new intro sequence for Weather Center Live tonight. I was able to get a video of it, but the quality isn't the best. I don't know if it's for severe weather, or just for the nighttime editions, but it's definitely darker than the usual intro. Has anyone seen this before?

Yeah, Bettes and Carfagno are coming on at 4. But, really? They're going off air for three hours when there's active tornado warnings and watches? Unbelievable.

Programming and Graphics / Re: New Show: "WXGeeks"
« on: April 12, 2015, 12:33:52 PM »
I always end up kind of disappointed when I watch this show. For example, Dr. Forbes was the guest today, and he of course has lots of interesting things to say. However, whenever he and Dr .Shepard got into a good discussion, they had to cut to commercial. This show always feels rushed and they are barely able to actually talk about anything. I remember there was talk several months back about making the show an hour; what happened to that? They could very easily fill the time. And now that they just go to longform right after Wx Geeks at 12:30, I don't see what the problem would be with expanding it. It could be sooooo much better.

TWC is looking for a new OCM to replace Kim Cunningham likely with lower pay.

Wow, I thought they'd only be looking for freelancers. I'm surprised they're interested in new full-time OCM's since all of the studio shifts are full right now. Bettes is supposedly going to start anchoring evenings, so why would they need someone to replace Kim in that timeslot?

According to Greg Forbes' facebook page, they will be live until at least 2am ET.

WUWA starts at 4am ET... At this rate they should just be on all night.

If someone has video of her goodbye I'd love to see it.

A screengrab was the best I could find so far, from Kim's Facebook.
