One of the new cuts is definitely similar to the old WUWA theme, but it's different than the one from the emergency feed. The other one is the old Morning Rush background music, and is exactly the same as the emergency feed music only with the intro attached at the end (here's what it sounds like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w22moDWF0ZA )

Everything Else TWC / Re: Updated WCL schedule and OCMs for Weekdays
« on: November 16, 2014, 10:33:08 PM »
Actually, this would be a great schedule change. Jen called it a "new" show; I wonder if it will have a name other than Weather Center Live.
As for weekends, I'd be willing to bet that Bonnie Schneider will be installed on the 9-12 program (she's anchored that frequently in the past few weeks) and Kait Parker will be moved to the 5-9.

TWC and your Cable Company / XFINITY Now Streaming TWC Live Online
« on: November 16, 2014, 08:56:50 PM »
I don't know how long this has been going on, but I just noticed today that Comcast Xfinity is streaming the Weather Channel live online for its customers. I think this a pretty recent update because I often use the Xfinity "TV Go" app on my phone. It already streams many other news networks (CNN, Fox News, ESPN, etc.) If you have Comcast, this link will take you to the networks, and TWC is the top one.

From what I've seen, the LOT8's and LDL show the generic national information.

« on: November 08, 2014, 09:17:47 PM »The shift prediction was correct. Jen and Alex did 5am-9am.
I wonder what this means for Ray who seemed to only do the 4am-7am WCL on Saturdays??

It looks like there will be more changes to live programming this weekend. From this tweet, Bonnie Schneider and Mark Eliott are anchoring from 9 to 12 noon eastern tomorrow. I'm assuming this means that the 12-2pm hours have been cut. I'm guessing Alex and Jen will do 5 to 9 (since TWC quietly pulled the plug on the 4am hour in the middle of this week.)

WUWA has been doing pretty well in the ratings lately... 74k in the 25-54 demo is not bad for that early hour.

« on: October 27, 2014, 06:16:22 PM »
Carl Parker, filling in for Mike Bettes, made kind of a bizarre political joke this morning. He said that he's dressing up as Big Bird for Halloween to "irritate Mitt Romney." Yeah, remember that? Sam does, and his reaction was... obnoxious.

Everything Else TWC / Re: The Forward Direction of TWC

There will be a push to make TWC more interactive, eventually completely removing the utilization of Chroma walls and using more walls monitors ad plasma's, as seen in the recent Severe coverage by using the large AMHQ video wall for the MAX weather graphics.
I wonder why they think the use of large monitors and video walls make the network more interactive. It's still a meteorologist standing in front of maps and forecast graphics. What's wrong with a good chroma key wall?
