Local Forecast / Re: March/April and May 2012 Playlists
« on: March 28, 2012, 06:12:30 PM »
In my opinion, twc has been shooting themselves in the foot. The playlists IMO were the last saving grace to the network but overall they are on a decline to the non-average viewer. I agree from mid 2009 onwards the playlists were awful and we"ll never see monthly jazz playlists anymore. I wish there was another cable weather station that would play music like that on their forecast segments but I doubt if there's capacity for another all-weather station to tap in the US market. With the loss of jazz, regular playlists and fewer local forecasts, there's really no point for me to watch twc anymore. I don't know if it's worth making test playlists either because it's nowhere near the same as actually hearing them on the lf :(

I heard The Lowdown by Spyro Gyra (2006?) and Expression by Joyce Cooling in the dining hall's smooth jazz station yesterday afternoon.

I've been told that playlists have been discontinued for the time being. Music will be changed occasionally as a new group is looking to change the music

Programming and Graphics / Live By It promo music
« on: March 27, 2012, 07:01:45 PM »
Mods, please move this topic if this is the wrong place but does anyone who does this music used in the Live By It promo from 2001-2002? In 2001, it was a clip of a woman waiting for a taxi with her umbrella on while standing in the rain. I remembered finding a full, narrationless 45 second clip of the song on YouTube but I can't remember which video it was as I favorited the video on my former YT account.

Go to 0:03, this is what I'm talking about.
Weather Channel Station ID and local forecast-June 2002

I love this music so much. I remember this music as if I heard it yesterday during the good ole days.

Not sure if anyone is aware, but Accuweather Manager and Vice President, Ken Reeves, died in a freak accident in his home on Sunday. He was 50. May he R.I.P. :(

Disgusting indeed. I'd be speechless if that happened to my kid, but racism is alive and  well even to this age. That guy needs life in prison

If I could I would do it with fish instead. How comes doras parents let their 5 year old daughter go anywhere she pleases without their supervision?

Banned because you seem to like traffic lights lately. :P
Banned because you're in the same area that Virginia Tech's is in!

I would assume that Barcelona and Spain shared views, considering Barcelona is a city in Spain :P
Yep, but not in Madrid. If you want bull fighting and tomato throwing, then a much laid back Barcelona is not the place for u :bleh:

Yes, but that was in France, :p but really not everyone in France is cynical of the USA, they seem to enjoy the diversity in the tourists who come to flock Paris. And everyone in Spain seemed really friendly and outgoing. Never had issues as a foreigner in Barcelona either. They have some really nice beaches and architecture which is a must see

General Weather Chat / Re: What's the weather in your area?
« on: March 16, 2012, 05:21:58 PM »
No chance of storms for Central Jersey. 56 and cloudy.
Why does your weather under your name only say 49 but you say 56?

48°F Haze
You should look at the time he posted too ;)

86°F Fair here now
The time wouldn't matter considering that he only posted that two hours ago. There was no cold front that caused the temp to go from      56 (like he said) to 49.

49°F Cloudy
I was looking at my iPod's conditions, not the ones from Weather Underground. The two stations often have conflicting temperature readings ;)
