Contributions / Re: Weatherstar Jr, anyone?
« on: August 19, 2010, 12:51:08 PM »
I'm sure there's quite a few JR's out west in sparcely populated areas. But for the eastern sections, I've seen videos of JR's from Winter Green, VA (A city sounding similar to that) with Comcast  :o as their cable provider. There's one in Syracuse, NY with a private apartment cable company. I thought I also saw one from Somerset, NJ (Definately not with Comcast because they have an IntelliStar).

That's Awesome, AFAIK, I think that's the only one I know of that is in use.
There's one in Akron, IN.
Really? Is that with an apartment/private cable company or with a public cable company? BTW, I don't think I've ever seen a legacy STAR on Youtube or TWCToday from Indiana...

AccuWeather channel is trying to compete with TWC... I mean, their music is similar and everything.

General Weather Chat / Re: What's the weather in your area?
« on: August 19, 2010, 11:47:22 AM »
In the 80's today, with dew point around 60.
This weekend looks ok, although a chance of a few stronger storms on Saturday with moderate humidity and temps in the upper 80's. Next week looks dry, sunny and pleasant with low humidity and temps in low 80's. (Even though I'm a HUGE fan of severe/extreme weather)  :P

TWC and your Cable Company / Re: Charter Communications Discussion

Even still with a lot of money in debt, I don't think the legacy Charter STAR's will be going anywhere anytime soon. I don't even think many IntelliStar 2's will be bought by Charter until the money worrys disappear. That probably means I'll be stuck with IntelliStar 1 for a couple years.
Don't worry, the IntelliStar is still good.
Pretty soon we'll be calling IStar 1 a legacy STAR.  :P

I think Thanksgiving and December 1-5 are good times to start the holiday playlist, but Thanksgiving may seem a bit early.
Yeah, I think Thansgiving for the list to start is pushing it. December 1 is just perfect with me, though.
(Off-topic) A radio station in my area (WLIT) starts playing Christmas carols in November and plays them and nothing else throughout the entire holiday season.
A radio station in my area (WNIC) starts playing them November 1, and plays them all the way until December 31.

So this is Charter's new logo, with what is apparently their new slogan. Not the best, but then again, they do have a slogan.

Charter's old slogan used to be "Brings your home to life"

Local Forecast / When Would You Like The TWC Holiday Playlist To Start?
« on: August 19, 2010, 11:07:20 AM »
Hello everyone, I wanted to start this poll because I'd like to know how long you would prefer the holiday playlist on Local On The 8's to run. I'm running this poll until September 30.

I hate those Allstate Mayhem ad's. There extremely weird and annoying. <_<

I had an idea for all IntelliSTARs near a major river (i.e., Mississippi River): River Stages. I understand if you do not get to this, but possibly for the next IntelliSTAR update? It's important to people of Memphis when the MS River gets above flood stage. It is even more important to people near Fargo with the Red River. This would be simular to the "Tides" screen.  Thank you SO much for your consideration!
Hopefully that can be put in if a Flash or Flood Watch/Warn./Adv. is issued. Not only should this be programed to the IntelliStar, but also any STAR near major rivers. I'm sure there are a few legacy STAR's along those areas, and soon there'll be IntelliStar 2's, as well.

That might be a good idea.

Local Forecast / Re: Which State has the most known XL's?
« on: August 15, 2010, 05:15:11 PM »
You forgot to count the XL in Willow Grove, PA.  :P

I think Michigan probably has the most, but I couldn't tell you. I don't even like the XL much anymore. I'm in love with the IS.
Michigan probably does have many more XL's, maybe in Ludington, Manistee, Manistique, Newberry, Munising, Escanaba or possibly more.
