I'm sad now that the severe weather risk has passed.  :hmm: I just love the good feeling of severe weather possible. (I'm a severe weather fanatic.  :P)

The last time a high risk has been issued was during the Yazoo City tornado. I don't remember having a high risk of severe weather in my area ever.

Severe Weather forecasteed for my area Tuesday!
TWC says: Strong to severe thunderstorms. Storms could contain damaging winds.
Also, a high wind watch for 60+ mph gusts Tue-Wed. The next 48 hours are going to be exciting!!!

I personally hope it begins December 1. It will most likely start on the 18th, though, if TWC doesn't get many requests for an earlier start to the list.  :hmm:

so this morning i was sleeping until about 9am when I started to hear what was rain outside, it was coming down hard and I said....cool, we need it, no big deal. lol well, about 15 minutes later I started hearing the nasty thunderstorms that aren't the normal "boom", i got up checked the NWS and TWC and confirmed that my area was under a Tornado Warning. about 3 minutes after that, ASU sent out an Alert to all it's students telling us to evacuate to the first floor of our hall immediately.

we also have tornado sirens, but it's become apparent that they have failed in the event of a serious situation...not sure how the city will handle that, but if you were watching TWC and saw San Angelo on the map, that's where I was.  :P
If there was big destruction and the sirens failed, that would make national news. (If there was destruction).

What what?  :P

You win on a lottery ticket and you go in and cash it, but you find it's a fake. What do you do?

Three years ago today, version 2.0 of the IntelliStar rolled out nationwide.
I remember. Also, around 10/26/07, version 2 of IS went back to v1.5 IS. That error only lasted a day. I don't know if it was just on my STAR or if it was a national issue.

Yes, too partly sunny can become too partly cloudy. :P

Can lightning strike exactly 2 miles, 3 feet, and 4 inches from where lightning struck just 15 seconds before?

From a comment I read on Facebook a few days ago, there's roughly about 100 IS2's operating.
