Well, it turns out that the DirecTV system does indeed have a severe weather feature. I found a city where a Severe T-storm watch was active, and the system notifies you of the watch with a still graphic on the bottom of the screen, telling you to press the red button for more information. During the LF, it also displays a bulletin page with a red titlebar with information on the watch. I'm guessing it also works the same for a warning, but I guess I won't get to see that during my final day here at home.

What do you know? Even though the Great Chicago Fire episode of WWCH isn't supposed to premiere until 9 PM CT tonight, the "WWCH on speed" half-hour edition of the episode is airing right now as a part of the Cable in the Classroom series.

Kim's hair is perfectly straight.

Yeah, it used to be like that for a long time until she decided to go curly. (which I'm assuming is more natural for her, not sure though) Now she's back with the straight hair.

Yeah, Squizz, they use the catchphrases during times when the teleprompter isn't in use. What you said doesn't apply to them at all.

Heck, back when EE Weekend used to start in the control room with a monitor for the prompter visible behind Adam, he would ignore the prompter and paraphrase what it was saying in his own way.

Yeah, for the opener, they used the slow, light version of the weekend morning theme. Today also saw the use of the transitional effects going to and from break. The wall divider graphic also looks pretty sweet - better than the Weekend Outlook theme, IMO. HD videos to come when I find the time.

The graphics are honestly nice enough for a high quality show; I really wish they would find some direction and maybe do something with the show; its current timeslot makes no sense.

(Giving it actual consistent theme music would help, as well.)

Hey, it was early in the morning; I forgot about it by the time I woke up. Yeah, they used a different theme for the opener, and it didn't fit well at all.

Now if you don't mind, for the second weekend in a row, I'm afraid of being eaten right about now, so I think I'll go seek shelter.

Here is a topic for us to discuss all of the changes going on with Your Weather Today as Marshall prepares to retire within the next month or so.

Today, Friday, October 10th, Nicole Mitchell is filling in for Marshall with Kelly Cass doing Travel. This comes after Bill Keneely has hosted the past two days and Wednesday-Friday of last week. Kevin Robinson has hosted the show Monday and Tuesday of both this week and last.

If Bill is off today, I can understand the sudden shift in the anchors for today, but if he's on Day Planner, then I'll start suspecting Nicole as an anchor candidate and be further led to believe that this is all some big tryout. I guess we'll find out soon enough; I'll be recording Day Planner while I sleep.

I wonder if Marshall will finally begin his run to the finish next week...

Okay, yeah, that yellow light is indeed the table that was meant to serve as the centerpiece for the couch. It appears that the table and the platform it sits on have also been moved a little since it was first set up. So, are the table and the platform just going to sit there, or maybe we'll see the couch get moved in there for an interview someday. I guess time will tell. Heck, maybe they'll decided to tape Forecast Earth studio shows there. I can definitely see that working.

I never knew the floor also lit up there based on the pillar colors. (orange, light blue, dark blue) Interesting.
