So, I was just thinking earlier about how the big meltdown happened on MLK Day last year, and what do you know?

As the great Richie J would say...

"hmmmmmmmmmmmm, what could that mean?"

Everything Else TWC / Don't drop that s-bomb, Adam!
« on: January 19, 2009, 02:09:53 AM »
At 12:36 CT during tonight's EEWC, HD Master stayed with the studio feed instead of switching to the commercials, and as a result, us HDers heard Adam talking to Master off-camera about how they had a failure and didn't record the :25 segment, so Adam needed to stay late and re-record it. Of course, it's not Adam's fault since he didn't think he was on the air, but he dropped an s-bomb during his little conversation with Master. :blushing:

Here's a crappy recording I got off my SlingPlayer using headphones held up to the microphone:

Does anyone notice that whenever Evening Edition uses the pre-recorded teasers, the first second or so of the opener is cut off? This causes the music to not line up with the opener. It wasn't always like that..
The opener isn't cut off at all; it just looks that way because the opener fades in from the teasers. The opener is out of sync from the music due to sloppy editing on their part. (This was common with the 2003-2005 EE pre-recorded teasers as well.)

I actually think it's done intentionally so that the signature notes play just as it's transitioning into the studio; at least, that's my take on it.

I have a very strong hunch that EEWC and WO are being produced by Master again as of Thursday. I'll post more during the day, but suffice it to say that the shows look just as rough and just the same as they did before the move to HD. Either OverDrive is broken, or they've decided to cut back by having one less person working during those hours; I'm thinking the latter, but we'll see.

I'm saying the average Joe couldn't (legally) pull down TWC's signal and broadcast it; they would need to strike a deal with TWC.

DirecTV and DISH both have an Intellistar hooked up to display the national LDL. (blue bar at the bottom of the screen during programming)

Are you suggesting trying to pull a DirecTV or Dish satellite signal straight to your computer? With the encryption they use, I don't think that's feasable.

...or are you talking about accessing the AMC-10 satellite feed from TWC with your computer? Again, I doubt that's possible.

Jim's had a lot of funny scenes from Chicago tonight, including pretending to be Flava Flav with a huge thermometer hung around his neck as well as an interesting discussion about alcohol with Paul. I'll try to get clips this weekend.
