OCMs & Personalities / Re: Marny Stanier

Jeanetta's fate may be due to a different reason. Leading up to 2007, every OCM without the title "meteorologist" had been getting a degree or at least a certification to be considered a meteorologist. In fall 2006, Jeanetta and Kristin Dodd were the only two to not have the "meteorologist" title, but Kristin Dodd earned a certification by the end of the year, giving her the "meteorologist" title. I'm wondering if TWC forced all OCMs to earn a degree or certification by January 1, 2007 or lose their jobs.

On EEWC tonight, they had a Forecast Earth segment hosted by Allen.
Allen as in P. Allen Smith?

No, Allen, as in Natalie Allen, the new host

I saw a new commercial for forecast Earth, and it was well put together if you ask me.

Yeah, surprisingly it seems to fit the glossy, bright style that started with the 2005 relaunch. It seemed like they were moving away from that ever since TWC decided to get really serious with many of their programs.

I rarely get to watch her, so I can't say much of her. The same applies for Kelly Cass; before she moved to PME, I rarely got to watch her live. I'm at school during that shift on Weekdays, and I'm usually sleeping during that shift on Weekends. :(

From what I've seen, Sam seems like a good OCM.

Well, we won't see the Nick Walker episodes any longer, but those are getting stale. As usual, I may or may not watch the first episode of the new format, but I don't intend to keep watching the program.
I like the Nick Walker versions. He has more experience in weather than Heidi Cullen.

Weren't all of them at least 1-2 years old and repeated ad nauseam?

It would be interesting if she wound up freelancing for TWC again. I wonder what standing has with TWC.

It would especially be interesting if Dave just so happened to be on while she was freelancing for TWC. :P

She's still with WeatherPlus? I thought she has appeared on CNN more recently than WeatherPlus...

She's been so hard to track down since she left TWC. It seems like she makes one appearance for a particular network and then disappears again.

How is that bad management? They have to keep up with their growth.

Hey, at least if Fox buys TWC, we won't hear any of the global warming crap anymore! :ninja:

Here are various HD LF's I have on my HDD; you may notice that all the ones from November feature music from the great Trammell outage that month and have some sort of data issue going on (which was another issue that started that month and still continues today.

I'll be posting my general contributions for this site in this topic. The ones on Imagehost will be deleted after 30 days of inactivity. Gary, you're of course welcome to take whatever you'd like for use on this site.

First off, my previous contributions to the site were deleted when there were server issues, so here are those files again...

I'll be posting some videos of shows from late November 2003 here. I already posted this Overnight Outlook video in another topic:

Now, here are some videos of Evening Edition from Wednesday, November 5...

Here's a video from the start of the show. Notice how the show still had a format back then <_<, and notice how the LF aired in between two studio segments, just like on A&B today, but the LF was only 1 minute on EE back then. Also, notice that Jim Cantore was using what ought to be the very first installation of SkyTracker, and of course notice that Jim Cantore still had a little bit of hair on his head.

Here's another video from the second segment of the show that features the Forecast to Go. I never realized the Forecast to Go existed after the 2003 relaunch until I found this video. I had always assumed that the Travel segment on EE became the "TWC Travel Forecast" upon the relaunch; apparently that's not the case. Is it me, or does the start of the Forecast to Go music sound reminiscent of the 2001-2004 CNN Headline News music? After all, both packages were created by Stephen Arnold Music.

Sure, and I have a bunch of programs I recorded that day and the following day, including FO, AO, PME, and EE. I plan on posting an EE video soon; let me know if there's anything else you'd like.

Here's the bottom of the hour segment from the morning of November 4, 2003 featuring Sandra Diaz. It starts out with the satellite LF from that era (which I actually don't remember that well), and the end of the national segment features the ETF; this was the final look of the ETF that lasted until it was retired along with OO in September 2005. I'm pretty sure someone here or on TWCC once asked if anyone had a video of the final look of the ETF. I wasn't sure if I had it, but apparently here it is.
