Everything Else TWC / Re: General TWC Discussion
« on: January 20, 2008, 08:54:14 AM »
Hey, this site still gets plenty of exclusive content. We were talking about the new Forecast Earth nearly a week before any mention of it was ever made on TWCC. Even these two threads tend to discuss different things at different times, and it makes it easier to carry on different discussions in different threads.

Anyway, back to the errors tonight. I don't know if anyone else here has TWC HD, but on that channel, they actually aired the entire :06-:08 commercial break while EE was going on followed by an actual HD LF complete with music at 9:02 CT. At the same time on the SD channel, they aired a part of the :06 break but then switched over to the :14 commercial break, which kept switching back and forth with the studio feed until things were resolved.

Do they still show the old TWC logo at end of Storm Stories?
Yes, at the end of all the episodes made from 2003 to 2005.

Actually, they edited those out a while back and replaced them with the new logo screen.

On the SS episodes produced by Towers from 2003-2005, the old logo is still shown in the lower right hand corner during the question asked at the end of every episode.

It's interesting that they tape it on a completely stripped down Weekend View set. Basically just the blue background, the A&B table, and an A&B plasma screen are there.

Gary, I know I accidentally sent this to you a while back with my personal email address, so I don't know if you got it or not or if you even knew who sent it to you, so here's the ZIP file again.

IIRC, they used two different music clips for the teaser all throughout that graphics package's duration. I think the one you speak of was more common. Even during the 2005-2006 package, they used two different clips of music for whatever reason. I never knew that the actual graphic changed, though I do think that the sidebar is animating to some extent, but it might be less than the graphic's final iteration. I wish I knew where my 2005 tapes were.

Ok, here we go with AO and PME.

Here's the 4 PM CT segment of Afternoon Outlook from Nov. 5, 2003; an LF precedes it.

Here's the 5 PM CT segment of PM Edition from the same day. Again, an LF precedes it.

An HP Pavilion notebook zv5340us running XP Home that badly needs to be reformatted.

In the home office, there's an HP Pavilion desktop (can't remember the model) that I got for Christmas in 2005; since then, the motherboard has failed back in March, and just a few weeks ago, the monitor's backlight started going out. :(

I know I promised myself that I'd watch at least the first episode, but that was before it clicked in my mind that it was an NFL Playoff weekend. Then I thought, "Once-in-a-lifetime Playoffs, or some show that will be on again for months and years to come?" First Jim Mora, obviously paid off by TWC, popped into my mind and said, "Playoffs?!? Don't talk about Playoffs! Playoffs?!?" Good thing I quickly recognized his trickery and dismissed him, and I made the decision to watch the Playoffs.  :smoke2: :sing: :drunk:

Yeah, that's why I asked for it for Christmas. Getting it otherwise would probably be difficult.  :)

Prior to this Christmas, I used a regular DVD recorder and had to run cables from the VCR to the DVD recorder; that's why I never really posted my old VHS recordings before.

Sure, I just have to run the VHS tapes through the DVD recorder. I believe I have Afternoon Outlook and PM Edition from that same day coming up next.

I should also get around to the 2001 stuff, as well. I have six tapes from that fall that I've found so far, including one of Mike Bono's final appearances on TWC (working alongside Melissa Tuttle).
