OCMs & Personalities / Dave and Adam doing PME today
« on: February 22, 2008, 05:16:58 PM »
Since the whole schedule is just a complete mess with over 5 OCMs taking the day off, Dave and Adam are doing PME today. I don't know what it is about them, but they seem to be having fun, just like they did the only other time they worked together in early 2007.

Things did get a little bumpy, though, during the last segment when Dave stumbled over Adam's last name and also when Dave tried to lead into a Lifestyles segment, but the prompter ran slow, causing him not to finish whatever he was supposed to say.

Here's kind of a funny one; I found Rich's reaction at the beginning priceless.

Who is that guy: Carl or Rich?

Do we have any idea who the woman is?

I missed watching Dave today...was he funny?  Who was his partner today, was it Jeff?
Jeff and Dave are a classic team and I think someone should record all his jokes and put it on a DVD.

Yep, Dave was working with Jeff today. Unfortunately after being in bed until almost 2PM CT today, I missed their first two hours together, but I managed to record the final two hours, and there were a few funny bits...

1) Dave is finally doing the Weekly Planner on WC again, so after months of not doing so, Dave decides to make fun of the Weekly Planner opener again, hoping "that woman" won't hunt him down for doing so.

2) It's so cold where Dave lives in Madison, WI ( :fear: ) that he can't help but be dramatic about it!

Today at 11:21 PM ET, they broke in with a Weather Update. Alexandra was doing the Weekly, Planner, then they showed the main desk with two empty seats, then, showed a live feed from Jim out in the field, then broke away to a blank Weekly Planner map.

After that, a blank screen came in for a minute or two.

Now during the commercial break, we see the main desk with people working in the background, and no audio. Getting this on tape...

Now we see Rich Johnson in studio...

Edit: Now hearing "Broad Street" by George Howard in the background, then it cut out.

Edit2: IS cut in after hearing WWCH promo and CC sponsor music.

Wow, that sounds really whacked out; can't wait to see the video!

Mike Bettes is sporting a tie yet again tonight.

You know, judging by the comment Steph ended the show with last night, it's almost as if it was done in response to some viewer mail that was read earlier in the show. IIRC, Steph did say something along the lines of, "There, how about that? He's wearing a tie!"

AFAIK, those L3s pull the current conditions data directly from the source (NWS or HiRAD) directly instead of being typed up by hand. I guess they never bothered to set these types of L3s up for the new format, which is why all shows use their old L3 styles for this function, except for EE, which, for whatever reason, uses a purple version of the old WC L3 style.

Really? I've heard it like crazy since the playlist began.

OCMs & Personalities / Happy Birthday, Jeff & Dave!
« on: February 21, 2008, 05:39:44 PM »
Today, we found out that Jeff Morrow's birthday is tomorrow, and Dave Schwartz's birthday was yesterday, so happy birthday to both of them!

BTW, I had a funny thought: You can't spell "tomorrow" without M-O-R-R-O-W.  :thrilled:

Was that one of the ones that reports the temperature and condition on the bottom line? Those are still in use, but they're used very rarely. I did see one at the top of the hour today and yesterday, though.

He's worn a tie in the past, but only a few times (during the first few months of A&B).

The last time I actually remember him wearing a suit and tie was last January when he lost his bet with Steph over the 2006 BCS National Championship; as a result, he had to wear a full suit and tie with Florida Gators colors. (orange and blue)

If he has worn a suit and tie since then, it was only once or twice.
I believe he has worn a tie the few times he had to substitute for someone on EE.

Sometimes, but he usually did it without a tie, which really seemed awkward.
