Unless of course their character (or at least on-air character) is changing. Perhaps they've decided/been told to let loose a little since it's so late at night.

Now Sharon used a variant and said "Yeah, let's do just that."

Other common first lines include: "Yeah, let's head in that direction," and "Yeah, Let's go that way,"

I wonder why they like saying phrases like that so much.

There was actually more to it than just that little bit. I just so happened to be recording at the time, so here's the whole segment; Mike tried to tell us who they were filling in for, but he couldn't remember, resulting in "Hall of Fame broadcasting."

Sometime in mid-2006, slightly before Kristin. I remember seeing the old YWT lower thirds saying "Your Weather Today" underneath his name early in the package's usage.

Hey, look! It's Mike Seidel over by the Global Forecast Center! He's sure working early today...

The late nights are wearing on him... He just started getting giddy about the flooding along the Ohio River. He had to check himself by saying "It's really not a laughing matter". Even after that, though, he kept grinning throughout the entire segment.

Edit: I just tuned in at that point. For the remainder of the hour, Rich kept the grin beaming on his face and kept chuckling, and during the final segment, Sharon was laughing as well as she talked about playing Rock, Paper, Scissors to determine who would talk first during the segment. What kind of fumes are they breathing in the studio? I wonder if they've been giddy all night like this. Time to find out.

*raises hand*

That explains why Jim had the whole week off; he must've been taking a vacation there in Orlando. :P

Good interview though, but did anyone else notice that some of the episodes of WWCH deviate from the telling about specific weather events? I'm pretty sure the Coast Guard one is like that, but I haven't watched it all the way through.

Just now at the top of the hour, they accidentally went to a tape of Rich and Sharon on EEWC instead of live First Outlook. Master caught it quickly and switched to a WWCH ad until they could get things set up properly. The ad was followed by the proper WWCH top of the hour bumper, followed by First Outlook.

Notice anything wrong with this video?

Interesting that this video was made during the three months that Warren had nothing to do with TWC after he quit his full-time job but before he started working part-time for them in July 2007. It's a shame he didn't get to be there for the silver anniversary.

Does this mean they're going to start getting other people's TWC videos on YouTube deleted for copyright violations?

Did you ever consider that the STAR Team might have taught the IntelliSTAR the robot dance technique? Perhaps you're seeing the IS's impression of the robot when it practices at night.

Mike wound up getting the nod on Weather Center this afternoon. Jeff and Carl are filling in for Betty and Kelly on PM Edition today.

Fun fact: The last two times Jeff and Carl worked together on PM Edition were on days where the PME anchors changed. The most recent was Betty's intended first day on the show, and before that was Kelly's intended first day on the show.

Today, the HD LF had problems of its own again. At 2:38 PM CT, the LF started with music playing, but the LF failed to appear, resulting in a few seconds of a blank screen until they switched to the emergency feed.

Then at 2:48 CT, the exact opposite problem happened: the LF appeared just fine, but the audio was nothing but static. The emergency feed finally kicked in once they realized the audio problem. By 2:58 CT, everything was back to normal.
