1:48 AM CT - the satellite LF has finally returned!

Apparently someone got bored at such a late hour and thought, "Hey, maybe I should busy myself by fixing that." :P

Okay, so did you guys know that the longest-tenured active host of First Outlook started his career as an attendant in a nursing home? Well, there was this one cranky old guy who couldn't walk on his own anymore, so every time he needed to get up, he would yell at the top of his lungs, "Nick... Walker!"

It's always worse on weekends. Methinks there's no one there to authorize the full preemption and the overtime for OCMs that would be required to pull off said preemption.
Ding, ding, ding.

As well, its a hell of a job for master to pull off break ins. It throws off the timing like you wouldn't believe.
They should do something to fix problem # 1. They need to have someone there at all times who can make the call to preempt, someone directly under whoever would normally make the decision on weekdays on the hierarchy.

In a matter of one minute on today's Forecast Earth, they managed to use both the music for the PME recorded teaser when going to break and the music for the Ski Conditions segment where the Star overlays local conditions.

Also, recent episodes of Forecast Earth have been making use of those massive screens hanging from the ceiling of the control room that I mentioned earlier. In these segments, Dr. Forbes stands next to the massive screens while the screens show relevant video. I may be mistaken, but I think I might have seen some camera inputs from the HD studio on a few monitors in the control room.

They're now doing a semi-live edition of EEWC with Carl Parker, which makes for an extra long night for him since he'll also be doing live segments during the 2AM ET hour.

Someone should seriously fix the satellite LF. It's still frozen.

They've barely done anything special tonight until just now when they did an 8-minute update in place of the first segment of Epic Conditions. They'll probably do the same during the first segment of Weather Ventures, as well. Compared to what they should do, this is nothing. TWC just gets more and more pathetic.

The usage of music and the way that everything was done in relation to the teasers seemed full controlled to me. I think the Weekend Weather Center crew likes using those types of transitional effects. As for the lower thirds, I'm pretty sure full control fixed that this week, as I posted earlier in this thread.

I sent it using the Assistance Request Form at

http://www.weather.com/interact/contactus/cableprogramming.html?from=contactus#

From experience, it seems to go to Chris Hoitsma.

Weekend Weather Center is still using the Weekend Now backdrop. It also appears to be master controlled, which is odd. (it's normally full controlled on weekends)
It was full controlled. ;)

You know, it's possibly the biggest severe weather outbreak of the spring going on right now, but TWC is showing Forecast Earth. I just sent them another scathing email, not like it's going to change anything.

They actually dismissed Ray Stagich after the first half hour of WO today. For as long as I can remember dating back to last fall, Ray has always worked the entire show on Saturday. They must have plenty of OCMs available today. (Alex Wallace and Eboni Deon are doing the main two hours of WO today.)

BTW, I'm a little bit bummed out that my recording of Dave today got corrupted by my DVD recorder. I'm trying to use whatever recovery software I can, but I'm not making too much progress. (using ISOBuster right now)

I happened to catch PM Edition before I took a nap this afternoon, and from what I saw, it looks like full control has fixed the issue with the lower thirds being displayed too far down on the screen after all this time.
