Actually, they've switched back to the late 2005 slogan of "Your Hurricane Authority".

I don't remember. Hopefully it'll air again soon.

From the glimpse I caught, it looks disgustingly Fox News-ish. Way too flashy and cluttered; I'm not liking it.

Who, me?

I don't really watch EE that much during primetime TV season. I'll probably start watching more this week, but I'll be flipping back and forth between EE and baseball on many nights.

I wonder what it's like to be Adam Berg right now. It's 1:39 in the morning at TWC right now; normally he'd be at home enjoying the start of his "weekend", but instead he's cooped up at The Weather Channel standing by to do yet another live show at 2 A.M. Hopefully he's keeping himself busy over there with the rest of the graveyard shift, as tiring of a day it must be.

Remember when EEWC Weekend actually had its own OCMs? That would really come in handy on days like today.

And now Adam Berg is doing a fully live EEWC tonight, you guys. He's got a late night ahead of him, but at least the viewers will benefit from having live updates during the overnight. The tornado outbreak is actually getting worse as the night goes on; three new tornado warnings issued this hour.

During the national Severe Weather Update at 10:01 PM CT...

Adam: Now here's Kristin with the very latest.

Kristin: All right, let's go ahead and do that.

Now we've got them doing it!

It was probably Ray Stagich. If so, then that was normal.

It was actually Alex Wallace this morning. Yeah, he's relatively new and appears in that timeslot on a regular basis along with Cheryl Lemke, Eboni Deon, Ray Stagich (Saturday), or Mark Mancuso (Sunday).

Wallace also works weather.com on most weekdays and fills in during the late morning and early afternoon on all days.

I have a good question:

If the main position of the desk is as it is in the promos and if the cameras for the projector screen need to be between the desk and the screen, how will they set it up so that the cameras won't be visible from the desk shots?

Good to hear Trammell back. This error probably led them to realize it was broken.

BTW, low temperatures are invalid on the satellite LF system after 4 or 5 AM ET (can't remember which).

I guess you cable people are only used to seeing the satellite LF during the overnight when things usually break. :P

Probably last January during his stints on Abrams & Bettes. Still, not wearing a tie on Weekend Now? Will this be something new?

Oh, and someone needs to tell Carl that even if Danica wins the Indy 500, she still won't be anywhere near the level of Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan. Those two actually have/had brilliant careers. He's embarrassing himself. :blushing:

While at the desk with Sharon at 12:25 CT, Rich used one of Sharon's usual catchphrases...

Sharon: Let's take a look at the Boat and Beach Forecast now...

Rich: Yeah, that sounds like a good plan here.

Usually he doesn't say that one, and usually they don't use catchphrases at the desk, so that was a little different.

They were trying to do this hour without live updates to avoid staying even later, it seems, but they wound up breaking in with a radar update at 12:20 CT to update on yet another powerful tornado on the ground.

If things calm down as they sometimes do late at night, why don't they just make sure at least record one good (non-time sensitive) version of every segment between the two hours and play that one set of good segments twice during the rebroadcast time period? That way the broadcast will rebroadcast smoothly, and Rich and Sharon can get home on time.

Of course, if severe weather is still relevant during the rebroadcast timeslot, they should still go live.

Well, the lights above the backdrop burning out did force their hand to fix a few extra lights as well, including the ceiling light shining on the wall to the right of the big backdrop. It looks much nicer over there now.
