For the last month or two, they've had both the A&B and EE shifts on weekdays do the top story videos on weather.com while their shifts are in progress. Kristina Abernathy is still doing all of the rest of the videos for the night.

Did anyone see the start of PM Edition tonight? Carl Parker did the whole first segment without a tie (been seeing a lot of that out of him this week), and Betty Davis's microphone wire was completely sticking out of her top. There seemed to be a bit of disorganization before the show.:P

Really? It even played 14th on TWC's emergency playlist right after the electric guitar one. (what I understand to be the real track 13)

He's not with BMI; he's actually with SESAC. Check this out:

Sharon: We're going to take a look back at the 2007 Hurricane Season, so let's do that.

BTW, isn't the one he lists on there as #13 really #14?

Silliness just ensued when the VizWeather Beach Forecast failed yet again. I don't think that thing has ever worked right. First, Rich accidentally skipped past the first one, then it turned out that all of the slides were displaying the forecast for Sunday twice and nothing else. After Sharon teased us to break, you could hear Rich exclaim in the background, "Did you see that?!?"

Rich: Now let's see what's coming up with Sharon.

Sharon: All right, let's do just that.

I don't think they've ever used the Storm Tracker one, but the First Forecast one has been used on occasion. (especially on weekends)

I think they turn the lights off when they're going to change backdrops. The EE one ought to be up soon if it's not already up.

He used to have it on his site back when TWC did the 2003 relaunch.

Programming and Graphics / New schedule to come June 2nd?
« on: May 27, 2008, 04:26:35 AM »
Since I get the schedule a week in advance on DirecTV, I decided to check in on the schedule for June 2nd, and as it turns out, the schedule is looking a little different; apparently long-form is taking a step back and being relegated to FFN/ICHT at 2 PM ET and 3 AM ET. Apparently Abrams & Bettes will become a two hour show from 7-9, EE will run in its usual slot, and Rich & Sharon will "do that" an hour earlier at 11 PM ET. EEWC will still run for two hours and be rebroadcast at 1 AM ET to make way for the aforementioned FFN/ICHT block at 3 AM ET. Apparently nothing will change for the weekends.

TV Guide also confirms this new lineup and shows the same lineup for the week afterward. Why they wouldn't air HD long-form when they're trying to promote TWC|HD, however, is beyond me and also casts a slight shadow of a doubt as to whether or not FFN/ICHT would really air every day.

On an interesting note, master controlled First Outlook used the same format as EEWC tonight; they used a teaser before the opener (for the first time) and used the same L3 text (using the FO L3s, though) and probably the same script for the teaser.

Hmmm.. no "RIGHT NOW WEATHER" banner and frame tonight. I wonder if it's gone for good or if the person who normally uses it is off for Memorial Day.

When was storm watch discontinued?

Usage of the segment was limited to only severe weather/winter storms after the 2006 Hurricane Season, and the segment was eliminated entirely from regular usage after the 2007 Hurricane Season.
