It looks like Heather's side of the wall, that is the right side of the wall, looks more opaque than Marshall's.  Maybe there is more lightning on the right side of the studio that reflects more.

Now, earlier I mentioned about the black bars on the top and bottom of the maps.  What's its purpose?  Does anyone find it annoying?  I do.  I'm all for less clutter on the screen.

Are you watching in SD? Those "bars" are actually the studio.

The maps on the wall don't look nearly as nice in SD; I see what folks are saying about the stretched out look with the wall on top and the floor on the bottom. It probably looks like a downgrade to some SD viewers.

Now they they have a podium designed like the desk pulled in front of the wall for the Tropical Update segment.

True, the maps do look a bit faded from the lighting.

I liked the comment about their new backup generator where Heather said, "Hopefully we'll never need that."

That would've come in handy on January 22, although they were still screwed without a working master control switcher.

No check with Ricky Bell at 6:40 like they used to do at that time; they're still doing it during FO, though.

They did, however, do a comprehensive Travel forecast during that segment. That's a plus.

Jim said to expect that at first. The wall is a little bit away from the OCMs.

The First Outlook L3s, for now, are just the old ones with the logo stripped out.

Anyone notice that the "tab" on the new YWT L3s is a yellow version of the title bars used in the HD LF?

They've also brought back the Business Travel Desk segment at :10. They better also have one at :40 still.

"Titan HD"...
Yep, not surprising.

One segment down, and we've also seen the restoration of the anchor names being displayed for the two-person shot. They also brought back the region by region forecast at the top of the hour. I can only hope and pray they today will be the day that TWC works to restore all of the order to their broadcasts that has been systematically destroyed over the last few years.

Yeah, let's do that.

Less than 6 minutes... I'm excited! :thrilled:

Looks like city names on SkyTracker are now all Helvetica. I guess we won't have to worry about this now, will we?

They actually have been testing out a different font for the last several weeks on SkyTracker for select cities in the southeast and northeast. It looked pretty odd, IMO.

I'm also wondering if the WPS-style maps might be running through SkyTracker. Ever since last weekend, they've actually gained the ability to run WPS through SkyTracker, and Carl Parker had a field day by putting all of his usual telestration on top of the WPS maps to start his segments. He must love it. Further evidence includes a fade between the radar and the surface map earlier this morning; they've been using more elaborate transitional effects to switch sources this morning.

Apparently the blue bar went national this morning.

2084
Do you have the new Blue Bar yet? Perhaps you STAR is updating...

My eyes are starting to hurt. Better go grab a Dew.

DirecTV still has the black bar. I wonder if we'll ever see anything new.
