Notice that the O in "TODAY" on the logo is a clock with the hand cleverly pointing to 7 o'clock, the time they go on the air out east? Nice touch.

I'm sensing a strong influence from past DP packages in the new look. It's like the design of the 2005-2008 logo with the colors from 2003-2004.

It seems like it's only being used for the field shots, just like pre-2003.

The Alaska Forecast map used during the forecast hour was also completely 4:3 unfriendly. It took up the whole 16:9 frame! They haven't made that mistake since, however.

They pulled a telestrator out for the 7:50 CT Tropical Update. They're doing something different every hour to show off the versatility of the studio, I think.

I wonder where the telestrator is located...

Anyone else think the last few notes of the YWT Weekly Planner opener sound like the "You Need Us, The Weather Channel" jingle?

The music in the "island" HD ad reminds me of the 1998-2001 signature, as well.
