Today I noticed that Forecast Earth is using special green pillar boxes for its 4:3 segments. Funny part is: The pillar boxes aren't even 16:9 safe!

No, the actual show music is custom made; we don't know where it comes from yet.

Last night durning EE WC, the LDL display durning thursday's forecast showed just the city name, & didn't show the forecast for that city

It's been doing that all week; I've already reported it to the STAR Team.

Not sure if this has been pointed out before, but has anyone noticed that Evening Edition and EEWC's openers are a bit different? EEWC's opener doesn't have that nighttime city background, and the logo is a bit "tilted."

Correct. They're pulled off the transitional effect from the normal opener successfully very rarely in the past...

I personally use the more updated ffdshow-tryouts, which is currently active since regular ffdshow is apparently a dead project. ffdshow gives you the benefit of having a bunch of different codecs that may come in handy down the line; I just recommend disabling mp3 support; the ffdshow mp3 codec always causes weird noises when I time skip.

Who knows what was the last time that the EE recorded teaser used the exact same opener as the EE opener just being played by itself? (same exact music, same exact graphics/scenes, etc.)

I just saw a promo for tomorrow's YWT, and I don't know if it was in HD or not. It was not letterboxed on the SD feed. 

Nope, it wasn't HD, which is surprising considering you'd think they'd want to promote the whole HD image.
