I have a feeling that the LCD screen where EEWC broadcasts might be the "low-level" show setup. I wouldn't be surprised if that's where DP, WC, WO, and WN broadcast. Also, as they do during EEWC, this setup gives them the ability to turn off a bunch of lights off to the left side of the set. Notice how during EEWC, they'll often use a two-person camera shot at the projector wall that shows all of the wall lighting turned off on the left side wall; it's like an abrupt cut from lightness to darkness.

After having problems with the aforementioned teaser in the first hour, they completely dropped it for the second hour and went straight to the opener. I wonder what they'll do for the third hour, but I'll never know because I'll be sleeping. Good night (or morning), all!

Huh, Heather is off today, so instead of Marshall doing a live teaser, he did a recorded teaser solo despite the fact that Nicole is also anchoring. What was odd, however, is that unlike all of the other recorded teasers, the opener for YWT was still done live instead of as a part of the teaser package.

It looks like their normal floor director is also off today. Speaking of which, it seems that only the high priority shows (YWT/A&B/EE) are using a floor director; the other shows are done just like in the old studio with directions coming only from the director in the earpiece and the countdown lights on the cameras. EEWC started out with a floor director, but I think they might have phased that out by now. I think I remember Kyle saying something about having extra staff on hand for the first week in HD.

EDIT: Despite it being Monday, they still called Eboni Deon in to work as Travel Analyst. Even if Cheryl Lemke had experience in the HD studio, I still would wonder if they would put her on YWT. Is she too "matronly and dowdy" to be allowed on the show?

Update: It looks like they've gone back to the original theme music for FO and (at least for now) scratched the theme they launched last week. Also, they made it sound like every day will be a three-hour full controlled show; I wonder if that's indeed the case.

Also, it's another "new ad Monday." This time they launched a human interest ad about Dr. Steve Lyons. I guess they want people to "connect" with him.

Finally, my "hurricane-loving HD-fest" prediction is holding true so far. During the final ten minutes of the first hour of FO, Bertha was upgraded to a hurricane, and it's now the "Top Story" and has led off the top of the hour and the segment at :10 past so far. We'll probably hear more about it soon. In fact, they just did a teaser for it going to break using the "intense" production music that led off most editions of SD Evening Edition from August 2007-May 2008. You can tell the producers and directors are getting hyped up. How much you want to bet this weekend we'll have Jim Cantore live from Bermuda in HD during Weekend View and Evening Edition? Then again, do they have a way to transmit HD video from Bermuda? They might not.

Jeff and Jen are doing all three hours together today, and with the theme of desk rotation, the desk is rotated the only way they haven't done it yet: with the A&B desk behind it.

Then at the end of EEWC, Kristin mentioned "utterly amazing temperatures", and Adam said that it was funny that she should say "utterly". Kristin started laughing while Adam reminded us of "mammatus". It was a good show tonight; Adam and Kristin do a good show together. Then again, Adam seems to make things interesting no matter who he's paired with (except for a few OCMs). I guess Adam has accepted the responsibility of being the Dave of the future, although Adam tends to be a little more ethical and less off-the-wall than Dave.

Wow, that was some of the most creative hopping around the topic of female breasts that I've ever heard by Adam and Kristin there (they were talking about mammatus clouds). It ended with Adam saying to Kristin, "Some day you might get me, silly rabbit."

Also tonight, Adam commented on TWC HD's exposure by saying, "Evening Edition in HD, for those of you who get it, is next."

We Also learned that Adam has dual US-Canadian citizenship after Kristin jokingly gave him the evil eye for saying that the Canadian side of Niagara Falls is better. (which it is)

Of course, Adam and Kristin both finished up regular EE by Adam mentioning that they're both off tomorrow, so they don't have to worry about the wake-up weather tomorrow. (they even kind of admitted that it's become a Sunday night tradition for Adam to bring up the subject)

I said it several times when opening my checking account in April. What can I say, the questions I was asked were just asking me to respond that way! :ninja:

TWC has already been doing stuff of its own to go downhill. :P

I think I'm down to my last disc or two, so I had to give up on recording this morning's last WV in SD in order to save up for FO. Clips will come tomorrow. (obviously)

Yeah, since the TV industry isn't interested in doing tech shows anymore, he's doing it on his own though the power of the Internet at http://twitlive.tv/

I'm addicted to it, to be honest. :P

At least this won't be nearly as bad as the YWT launch. I still don't know how late I'm going to go tonight, but I'm going to try to at least see through the second hour of the show...

Wow, this story also made it on the end of Leo Laporte's This WEEK in TECH podcast when they talked about how CBS chose to buy CNET instead of TWC. They were a bit too critical of TWC, IMO. That still won't stop me from loving Leo and the gang, though. :P

Apparently there's a reason that the show if officially titled "PM Edition Weekend" I guess it's considered a completely separate entity from weekday PM Edition. My guess is that that PMEW will go HD at the same time as WWC, which may or may not be at the same time as weekday WC.
