I wish I would've recorded this hour...I figured they would just re-air the same thing next hour. I wouldn't be surprised if it shows up on TWC's BlueBox, though.

They just played the A&B opener at the bottom of the hour. Apparently the one that's not part of the teaser doesn't have weather icons on Mike Bettes's part. BTW, anyone ever notice how ridiculous the temperatures on there are?

The only sad part about Studio 1A going away is that we won't get to see what we saw during the 3 PM CT hour: Dr. Heidi Cullen walking behind the desk. I should've gotten my shotgun ready.

General Discussion / Re: How old is your computer?
« on: July 08, 2008, 01:53:20 AM »
This HP Pavilion laptop - a little over a month old
Other HP Pavilion laptop - three and a half years old (suffered a power connector failure, recently got it repaired)
HP Pavilion desktop - two and a half years old (already suffered a motherboard failure, possibly about to suffer an HDD failure)
3 other HP Pavilions desktops - one from 2000, one from 1999, and one from 1998 (They're all pretty sluggish and not really in use anymore.)

Kristina Abernathy is now the only Monday/Tuesday fill-in, but she's not trained for HD yet I'd assume. (which reminds me of an audio clip I want to get up).

If both Rich and Sharon were to take off in an emergency, they might either resort to calling Adam and saying, "surprise, gang, but you're not off this Monday!", or they might call up someone from the PME crew like they used to do in the Dave & Hillary era.

Interesting, today they ran a recorded segment about hurricane tracks and intensity featuring Dr. Lyons in the old Weekend View studio wearing the same ensemble that he's wearing today. Either he recorded that in the past, coincidentally wearing the same thing, or that was recorded today. I wonder if that studio is indeed still active.

Then again, he might even pull a fast one on us and retire before that; he's really cut his schedule back to the point that he only seems to appear on TV once every 2-4 weeks.

On another subject, do you guys think that something has always looked weird about those light panels behind the desk between the three computers; they don't quite look at crisp as the rest of the lights on the set, and sometimes they even look so grainy that it looks like there's moisture trapped in them.

That would be quite fitting if he winds up working the final broadcast in there; yeah, they've only been there since 1997, but he's still the older of the two longest tenured OCMs.

Pick a day, I don't care as long as I have a disc.

I wonder what the source on that timeline is, but it does sound pretty feasible.

It used to be at an even higher level, but it seems to have gone down a little bit since they cut back to just two anchors. It's still at a much higher level than DP, WC, WO, WN, WWC, and PMEW.

Meh, it's become the big thing for big corporations to take down copyrighted YouTube videos; I honestly wouldn't be surprised if NBC did such a thing.

Vic, you should consider re-downloading your YouTube videos with a site such as http://www.mediaconverter.org/
