Okay gang, got a question.  Do we know if the lightbar around the screens (that replaced the greenscreens) changes color?  I'm seeing serious possibilities if it does.
I don't believe we've seen any evidence of that thus far, but I catch your drift. :)

Basically this storm is going to make landfall on Monday or Chooseday. :P

Does SMF have a red version of this skin?

Indeed, no Storm Alert tonight. I wonder if Adam will be willing to say "gang" tonight under these circumstances... :P

Based on the updated track of Hannah, that storm could also pose a threat to the U.S. and even possibly enter the Gulf. I can't imagine what would happen if Hannah were to hit the same area that Gustav does. Surely that would be a worst case scenario.

Wow, they bumped the Lifestyles segment back to :44 this hour; they're going to be really behind now.

1372
A special Gustav opener just replaced the PME opener for this hour; they're now in the phase that happens *just before* Storm Alert.

The podium that they use for the hurricane updates is red! IT'S RED!!! :thrilled:

Jeff Morrow did a live report on Nightly News tonight from New Orleans where he provided the meteorological information on Gustav. I wonder why there's all this cooperation between NBC and TWC if the deal hasn't closed yet. Was it some kind of preliminary deal between the two networks or something?

I think that will be the case all night...

Hey, they fixed the lights to the right side of the city backdrop! I guess they wanted to be ready for the hurricane coverage...

...Carl also busted out a tie I've never seen before for this special occasion. :P

Jeff Morrow has been deployed for this storm; that's his first of the season! I wonder who will fill in for him on Monday morning; my guess would be Cheryl Lemke.

One more discussion point: Why did TWC cover Dean's landfall in Mexico so much last year when generally, (including right now) TWC doesn't care that much to cover non-U.S. landfalls? Was that just due to the lack of U.S. action last year?

I don't see how people are saying "I hear Storm Alert music", when we don't even know what they use for storm alert music, beause they havn't gone into storm alert yet...  :dunno:
They are hearing the storm Alert music from previous years (2005, 2006). ;)
I didn't hear that at all today. Did I miss something?

Exactly my thinking, Kyle.

I also think that Storm Alert probably won't start until Sunday morning at 7 AM ET since it usually doesn't start until the system is less than 36 hours out, and 7 AM ET seems to be the precedent for when Storm Alert starts. Now I have to debate whether to stay up for it or not... >_<

Maybe I'll just sleep in like three hour increments and wake up in time for each show's timeslot to start. :P

As a final thought, even though they're not in Storm Alert, will TWC find the means to go live overnight like they should, or will they leave us in the dark again? If they do go live overnight, they would certainly need the help of the weekday folks to do that.
