No, I don't believe they use Lifestyles openers anymore.

Yes, WC's regional openers have been used on occasion, but I don't remember exactly what they look like, and I don't believe I have video of them.

I'm wondering the same thing as well since this segment obviously contained live segments. (radar and the mentioning of the current time)

Also, the production of this segment was quite raw compared to the modern EEWC production format. Did Dave drag the old production format back in with him for a total blast from the past? This segment seriously felt very 80s the way Dave ran through the segment while sitting at the desk and talking over full screen maps in an unscripted and "unslick" manner.

They just extended the last segment to :46 and 30 seconds in order to do a radar update for the entire nation and "tie this into a forecast region-by-region". Who knew there was other weather going on around the country until just now?
