Is this a sign that the TWC hype machine is back? Hannah is still a few days out, but it's already time for, "Mike Seidel, The Weather Channel, Wrightsville Beach, NC." :P

Holy crap; Ike just rapidly intensified into a cat 3; this storm could become really powerful with the situation it's in...

Again as usual on Weather Center, they used bumper music for the openers most of the hours instead of the actual opener music, but the one neat benefit is that since they had a really long teaser, they played about 55 seconds of the "hard" theme music straight. (everything except the opener had voiceover, but it still gives us an idea of how the theme sounds as a whole.)

BTW, when I say "hard", there are two main bumper tracks that are used for WC; one is the normal one that's associated with the opener; then there's this "hard" one that uses most of the same notes but with a more intense feel to it. Video to come shortly.

I was replaying my video from last night, and I noticed that they started EE with the red Storm Alert lights around the walls of the studio. After that, they changed to the daytime white, then to the morning light blue, and they stayed on that color for the rest of the night, even through EEWC. I guess somebody really goofed there; hopefully the EE dark blue lights will be back tonight.

Tonight during the EE teasers Alex said this:

"Tonight we DIVE into Hanna, Ike, and Josephine."

Have Alexandra Steele and Adam Berg ever worked together? :P

I noticed that as well; it was quite noticeable. :P

...and because of that we get the Weekly Planner starting with the Jet Stream. :P

Now he just accidentally passed up Wednesday, so he ran over to the computer and restarted the Viz presentation.

Looks like Storm Alert has finally ended. Anyone know when? I'd guess it happened at 4 AM ET when First Outlook started.

Yeah, that's right, but the Storm Alert music continued on the LF for another hour until the daytime playlist started. Why has control over the Storm Alert music on the LF gotten so sloppy this time around? Before it used to begin and end at the same time Storm Alert did. (with only minor errors here and there)

This is getting silly now; there's no reason to be in Storm Alert this long. Katrina's Storm Alert even ended by like 7 PM CT on the day it made landfall.

I'd have to wonder that as well since TWC obviously wants to be on top of this storm. I'm surprised they were so slow to cover it initially, yet now they've gone all out on it after it made landfall. Is the TWC Tropical hype machine from 2005/2006 back again?

I think Alex is plenty tired of it by now since it's so unnecessary at this point. My guess is that it's over after this hour, though.

I'm just staying, given the lifestyle of himself that he describes makes him seems as if he's still single and without a woman in his life; We obviously can't say for sure, but he certainly seems to portray himself that way.

Wow, Paul and Alex this early? Will Rich and Sharon start early as well? I guess time will tell.

Heading back to college now; see you there!

I wonder if it's finally over given the way they ended that last hour...

Given Adam's young age and the location of his son, I wouldn't expect Adam to have a son. "Little" doesn't necessarily mean a kid. I'm thinking along the lines of a "little" brother.
