Well, is this special coverage Alex coverage, severe weather coverage, or just oil-spill coverage? Because ALL I keep seeing when I flip to TWC for just a few minutes is a segment on the oil-spill.

Guess you aren't turning in at the right times, then, because they are certainly covering all three.

Will there be more Alex coverage today that replaces long-form? Since it looks like Alex will strike land as a Cat 1 hurricane, I guess it's something worth talking about.

Yes, long-form is pre-empted today. They've also been covering severe weather as well, so it's not solely Alex coverage.

According to Kelly's Facebook page, she's going to be hosting PM Edition Weekend from 7-11et again tomorrow.

Carl wasn't on Weekend Now this morning, so I am assuming he was filling in for Kelly on WV (I didn't watch).

I tuned into First Outlook today, only to discover the debut of a new OCM, Steve MacLaughlin. The only thing I can find about him is that he worked for KXAS in Dallas until January 2010, when he opted to not renew his contract in favor of searching for new job opportunities out east.

This is a pretty surprising move considering that TWC already hired Maria LaRosa, and it's only a matter of time before she comes back from maternity leave. TWC already has too many OCMs for its shortened live programming schedule as it is, so does this mean that some veteran OCMs might be leaving soon? I guess time will tell, but I'm a little concerned.

Maybe this means they'll increase the programming schedule... although at this point in time it's too much to hope for. :meh:

TWC will just be shooting themselves in the foot again if they lay off anymore OCMs. Although given the trend, that's actually not too unlikely.

I'm really unsure what I'd rate it. I like some parts of the "new" TWC, like the new LDLs and lower thirds. However, it seems as if they either went low budget or are taking their sweet time on getting everything done. For instance, the only completely relaunched package was Your Weather Today, and honestly, it isn't even good. It looks like they put it together in less than a day, the color scheme is quite ugly and has a more First Outlook-ish feel to it, and the music is definitely not "morningy", not to mention they rarely use the opener theme. I'm guessing that theme, and all the other new themes for the new shows are production music, seeing as the theme PM Edition is using was used before by TWC (25th anniversary).

There is definitely room for improvement - I really hope we see a "full relaunch" in graphic packages within the next year, if there are more things still to come, I hope they're better than what we're seeing now. :/

Hi guys! Just wanted to check back in with you guys. I haven't posted here in MONTHS; my life has been extremely busy for a while. Mostly school, but that's been over for a few weeks, and I've had some time to relax and I've got some more time on my hands now, which is good. I will try to be more active here throughout this summer.

Just wanted to stop by - in case you were worried that I died or something.

For some reason, for the past couple of hours on YWT, the LDLs at the top and bottom of the hour have been cueing immediately, instead of the normal 1 minute delay.
