EDIT: The master control room isn't used now? Oy, I need to be updated on some things.
The master control room is still used, it just isn't used for production anymore. (It was used to produce some shows up until the move to HD in 2008.)

Everything Else TWC / Re: Blooper Thread

They just used a WN graphic on DP
Technically that isn't exactly a blooper; I'm pretty sure that's the only Weather Passport opener that they have (and they very rarely even use it).

Also, if you recall, Weather Passport was also a segment on the original Evening Edition.

Local Forecast / Re: All Allen Jackson Narration Websites?

I just looked and Martin uploaded a few months ago most of the CC/temp narrations found on the IntelliStar. See this thread: https://twctodayforums.com/forums/local-forecast/intellistar-narrations/

Thunderstorms attack TWC's HQ and the feeds are crackled... and going out.
Video coming.

How do you know it wasn't your local headend/problem with your STAR???
Yeah, I think that was just a local problem, skywarnal. I was watching TWC at that time and I saw no issues whatsoever.

A video camera recording was all I was able to do as I don't have a tuner... but the quality isn't really too bad for a camera recording IMO. B)

Unfortunately I was unable to capture the Station ID as my camera decided to be a  :censored: and started having problems right before the LF. Fortunately it was a simple setting I had to fix so I was able to start recording before the LF started. :) Also, from 1:22 to 1:24 in the video I cut out the audio because I accidentally knocked over something off camera that made a noise, so I just decided to cut that part out.

I've attached the video...

TWC Today News / Re: LAT48s- 4 Year Anniversary Edition
« on: June 25, 2011, 12:48:26 AM »
Four years sure do go by quickly! In these past 4 years, lots of efforts on the part of the administration, contributors and forum members have undoubtedly been hugely responsible for the continued success of our community. Thanks to all of you who have, and continue to be, a part of this site. Couldn't have done it without you. :twothumbs: I myself have not been that active in recent months but of course I will still definitely try to be here any time I can and contribute in any way I can. :)

As far as the Local Across the 48s goes, I will definitely be contributing, and I hope many of you guys will be as well! B)

I can't believe it's been nearly 6 months since I last posted here.

Anyway, I just wanted to stop by and say hey! I know I haven't been in here in forever, but numerous things so far this year have seriously kept me busy with life and I've had not so much free time for here. (Particularly with school work - but it's summer now so that's no longer an issue) Not to mention I've lost much of my interest in TWC in the past couple of years too, so that's part of the reason. :hmm:

I will try to come back here more often this summer, though - I certainly have no plans of staying MIA forever! :)

Programming and Graphics / Re: New Schedule
« on: December 29, 2010, 12:05:15 AM »
Hard to say what I think about TWC reverting back to the old schedule. On one note I like it because I usually turn on the TV and see TWC at 4pm my time, which is now the longform block. But on another note, I also turned on TWC earlier when longform was on so I don't know.
As of today, TWC has not reverted back to the old schedule.

So is PM Edition back now from 4-7, or are they just doing extended coverage today? (My tv Guide says its PM Edition)  :dunno:
It's still Day Planner, apparently.

So it would appear that Ryan Goswick never left TWC... he's on the 6 PM CT hour of PM Edition right now.

Was that the set they were using during the mass outage in 2008?
No, because they were broadcasting from a different studio.
