Local Forecast / Requesting Help With Finding A Song
« on: August 18, 2010, 10:48:58 PM »
Before posting a request please visit our extensive music database on the TWC Today website at https://twctodayforums.com/index.php?page=music/monthly Many songs have been neatly organized and posted there. It is a fantastic resource!!

When asking for help in identifying a song you ehard on the LF (be it past or present-I'll be putting this in the current LF board as well) there are a few things to remember:

-Telling us the specific time a song played is often not helpful, because we don't watch every Local Forecast! If your posting in the current LF music board its marginally helpful there because we can at least determine which daypart playlist the song is on.

-Always include a clip (video or audio) of the song your after if you have one, no matter the quality of the clip. Most of the time this will result in identification.

-If you have no clip, there are some things you can tell us that would help greatly in ID'ing a song. For instance, tell us what instruments were used in the song (piano, guitar, sax, etc.), the tempo of the song (fast, medium, slow), and the style of the song (rock, jazz, new age, and so forth).

-And finally please tell us the month and year the song played (especially important if your posting in the classic board).

No identification request is ignored here, but those with insufficient information likely won't be figured out.

A VIGOROUS TROPICAL WAVE LOCATED NEAR PUERTO RICO IS PRODUCING A
LARGE AREA OF CLOUDINESS AND THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE NORTHERN
LEEWARD ISLANDS...THE VIRGIN ISLANDS...PUERTO RICO...THE DOMINICAN
REPUBLIC...AND THE ADJACENT WATERS. ALTHOUGH THE THUNDERSTORM
ACTIVITY HAS BECOME MORE CONCENTRATED NEAR PUERTO RICO AND THE
VIRGIN ISLANDS THIS MORNING...THERE ARE CURRENTLY NO SIGNS OF A
SURFACE CIRCULATION. ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TO BE
SOMEWHAT FAVORABLE FOR DEVELOPMENT DURING THE NEXT DAY OR SO. THERE
IS A MEDIUM CHANCE...40 PERCENT...OF THIS SYSTEM BECOMING A
TROPICAL CYCLONE DURING THE NEXT 48 HOURS AS THE DISTURBANCE MOVES
WEST-NORTHWESTWARD AT 5 TO 10 MPH. REGARDLESS OF DEVELOPMENT...
LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL AND GUSTY WINDS WILL LIKELY AFFECT THE
NORTHERN LEEWARD ISLANDS...THE VIRGIN ISLANDS...PUERTO RICO...THE
DOMINICAN REPUBLIC...HAITI...EASTERN CUBA...THE TURKS AND CAICOS
ISLANDS...AND THE SOUTHEASTERN BAHAMAS DURING THE NEXT COUPLE OF
DAYS.

A TROPICAL WAVE IS PRODUCING WIDESPREAD CLOUDINESS AND NUMEROUS
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE WESTERN CARIBBEAN SEA.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS APPEAR FAVORABLE FOR SOME SLOW DEVELOPMENT
OF THIS SYSTEM AS IT MOVES GENERALLY WEST-NORTHWESTWARD AT ABOUT 15
MPH OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. THERE IS A LOW CHANCE...10
PERCENT...OF THIS SYSTEM BECOMING A TROPICAL CYCLONE DURING THE
NEXT 48 HOURS.

1. A LARGE AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE EASTERN CARIBBEAN
SEA IS ASSOCIATED WITH A STRONG TROPICAL WAVE THAT IS MOVING
WESTWARD AT 10 TO 15 MPH.  ALTHOUGH THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF A
SURFACE CIRCULATION...THIS SYSTEM IS SHOWING SOME SIGNS OF
ORGANIZATION AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS APPEAR CONDUCIVE FOR
GRADUAL DEVELOPMENT DURING THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS.  THIS WAVE
COULD PRODUCE LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL AND GUSTY WINDS OVER PORTIONS
OF NORTHERN VENEZUELA...THE NETHERLANDS ANTILLES...PUERTO
RICO...THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC...AND HAITI OVER THE NEXT DAY OR SO.
THERE IS A MEDIUM CHANCE...30 PERCENT...OF THIS SYSTEM BECOMING A
TROPICAL CYCLONE DURING THE NEXT 48 HOURS.

TWC Today News / Forum Reorganization and New HD STAR Subforum
« on: June 18, 2010, 11:59:15 PM »
The following changes have been made:

  • The TWC HD Forum has been removed due to lack of need and participation since the HD launch. Topics have been moved to their appropriate topics. Nothing was deleted.
  • The Programming Forum has been renamed to Programming and Graphics and will now be used for various graphics changes made to TWC (excluding local forecast changes)
  • A subforum has been created to accommodate the upcoming beta release of the HD Intellistar. The topic will be used for discussion, recommendations and feedback. It will likely be reviewed by the STAR team for opinion.

CLOUDINESS...SHOWERS...AND THUNDERSTORMS ASSOCIATED WITH A BROAD
AREA OF LOW PRESSURE LOCATED ABOUT 975 MILES SOUTHWEST OF THE
SOUTHERNMOST CAPE VERDE ISLANDS HAVE BECOME BETTER ORGANIZED TODAY.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS APPEAR CONDUCIVE FOR ADDITIONAL SLOW
DEVELOPMENT OF THIS SYSTEM OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS AS IT MOVES
WEST-NORTHWESTWARD OR NORTHWESTWARD AT 10 TO 15 MPH.  THERE IS A
MEDIUM CHANCE...50 PERCENT...OF THIS SYSTEM BECOMING A TROPICAL
CYCLONE DURING THE NEXT 48 HOURS.
