WeatherSTAR Tech Support / Sunny when not/IS2
« on: January 14, 2011, 03:39:17 PM »
Across all platforms for Topeka; IS, IS2, Weatherscan, iPhone, etc it has been saying it's sunny when it's cloudy all day long. Not a peek of sun all day and it says "Sunny". It might switch to something else like "Partly Cloudy" or "Cloudy" for a half hour or so but then goes back to Sunny or Clear. It's been doing this for many months now. The temperature seems to be accurate, just not the sky conditions.
For instance, right now at 2:40PM Central it says, "31, Sunny"... it has been cloudy all across NE Kansas all day long and there is even a mix of precip on radar that has been moving through this afternoon.

Another problem that has been happening on the IS2 is sometimes when there is Snow or Snow Showers the "flipbook" as I've seen people calling it lately is not functioning right for the extended forecast. It only shows about two frames of the flipbook making it jump from one area to another. For instance the snowflakes will be in one spot, then jump to another, then jump back and forth between only two frames. It's not doing it all the time, but when it does it's doing it for hours, usually until the forecast flips to the next time frame. I'll get a video if needed next time I see it doing it. It was doing it all day today for Monday's forecast of Snow Showers, but just stopped doing it about 2PM central.

WeatherSTAR Tech Support / Wrong IS2
« on: December 21, 2010, 06:01:33 PM »
We had the Intellistar2 set up here in Topeka for Topeka but Monday morning the channel was off-air all morning. Now all we get is Manhattan's local forecast. Everything is set for Manhattan and Topeka is barely mentioned. Any help?
EDIT: TWC SD Intellistar and Weatherscan are set for Topeka still.

WeatherSTAR Tech Support / Problem with 031067 again
« on: August 15, 2010, 06:44:05 PM »
031067 for Weatherscan in Topeka, KS is showing Wichita Mid-Continent Airport information for Kansas City International Airport information as well on the ticker. Just realized it was doing it. When ICT changes so does MCI with the same exact information. Thanks! (Now I'm wondering if any other reporting sites are wrong?)

WeatherSTAR Tech Support / 031067
« on: July 28, 2010, 11:30:01 AM »
Since the topic I started was locked I have to start a new one. :( On Topeka's Weatherscan 031067 I asked the Star team to fix a couple issues, one being an issue with the city of Garnett on our bottom ticker. Ever since then one of our cities in what I'll call the "local" set has been changed to Concordia. I don't remember what city it was. I want to say it was Clay Center but can't remember for sure. Now Concordia is on both the "local" and still on the "regional" sets. Can you please correct this? It'd be appreciated when you can get a chance to. Sorry I can't remember what city it had been on the local set but I remember Concordia always being on regional. Thanks.
Cities on Local:
Atchison, Concordia, Emporia, Fort Riley, Garnett, Holton, Lawrence, Ottawa, Paola, Topeka.
Cities on Regional:
Falls City, Concordia, Kansas City D'twn, Omaha, Parsons, Salina, Sedalia, St. Joseph, Tulsa, Wichita.

WeatherSTAR Tech Support / Topeka twice on LDL
« on: June 29, 2010, 02:07:32 AM »
Star# 22909 for Topeka, KS on Cox has Topeka listed twice on the non-LOT8 LDL. One is the main site of Phillip Billard and the other, I assume, is the second site of Forbes Field. It's very confusing to a lot of people, including me. Can the Forbes Field site be changed to S. Topeka, South Topeka, or Pauline (or anything other than just Topeka)?
Also, our Weatherscan Star #031067 won't put anything except No Report for the Allergies screen during the Health segment. Same thing during Airports for Kansas City D'town Airport, even though it scrolls normally at the bottom with delays. This has been happening for a month, or longer, even though Cox had to replace the Star due to constant freezing and needing to be rebooted. (It was doing this all before and after the new Star was installed.) Thank you for your consideration and any help you can provide with getting Weatherscan fully functional!

WeatherSTAR Tech Support / Wrong currents? (Cox/Topeka)
« on: June 08, 2010, 07:54:04 PM »
Our Intellistar for TWC and Weatherscan was down all day Monday and Monday night. Ever since it came back up on Tuesday morning the conditions have been completely wrong from what the NWS is reporting. Right now it says it's sunny. It's supposedly been sunny all day. Even though it's been cloudy to mostly cloudy with rain or thunderstorms all day. The current conditions on Weatherscan just switched to mostly cloudy, even though it's still completely cloudy. Anybody else seeing wrong conditions lately? Thanks.
