WeatherSTAR Tech Support / Sunny when not/IS2
« on: January 14, 2011, 03:39:17 PM »
Across all platforms for Topeka; IS, IS2, Weatherscan, iPhone, etc it has been saying it's sunny when it's cloudy all day long. Not a peek of sun all day and it says "Sunny". It might switch to something else like "Partly Cloudy" or "Cloudy" for a half hour or so but then goes back to Sunny or Clear. It's been doing this for many months now. The temperature seems to be accurate, just not the sky conditions.
For instance, right now at 2:40PM Central it says, "31, Sunny"... it has been cloudy all across NE Kansas all day long and there is even a mix of precip on radar that has been moving through this afternoon.
Another problem that has been happening on the IS2 is sometimes when there is Snow or Snow Showers the "flipbook" as I've seen people calling it lately is not functioning right for the extended forecast. It only shows about two frames of the flipbook making it jump from one area to another. For instance the snowflakes will be in one spot, then jump to another, then jump back and forth between only two frames. It's not doing it all the time, but when it does it's doing it for hours, usually until the forecast flips to the next time frame. I'll get a video if needed next time I see it doing it. It was doing it all day today for Monday's forecast of Snow Showers, but just stopped doing it about 2PM central.
