I think you're talking about this: https://twitter.com/daveclark/status/635132309591580672

As of right now, nothing yet on DISH, anyone see anything?  I would think DISH/DTV would get something since that pic looks like a national IS.

Nothing yet on my IS2, but Im noticing that LDL keeps switching between IS2 LDL and national LDL.  It has been doing that at least for the last hour or so.

This was done maybe a week or so ago, but also notice how the ticker extends to the far right side of the screen now, effectively removing any option for the return of the rundown of climate data, airport delays, etc.  That blank space really bothers me though.  Is that filled with something on an IS2 feed?
That space is also blank on the IS2's Sidebar.

... and the ticker is not shown going all the way over to the right on IS2 when sidebar is active

It seems like TWC has updated the IS2 silently removing the product names under the sidebar, and moving the ad crawl closer to the local forecast products. I included pictures from the McAllen, TX IS2 and the Slatington, PA IS2. (Credit saxlover98) The national feed has the blank space under the sidebar as well.

EDIT: The sidebar issue may not be part of the update. It might be a bug on both the Nat'l and local feeds.
EDIT #2: TWC added a new format to the LDL LOT8s plus a new Logo for it. I included an image of it.

It's been a few weeks since update, so the local product rundown missing in sidebar is permanent?  If so, interesting move... a lot of empty space there now.

Hi Star Team,

The Albany, NY IS2 HD clock seems to be off  by 4 hours.  Right now showing 3:10 instead of 7:10.   The radar clock is off by that much too during LOT8s.

Thanks,
Chris

I wish the alert scroll would go over the national headline scroll.  I find it a bit difficult to read two scrolling messages so close, even though the go at different speeds.

The San Antonio IS2 (Time Warner Cable) apparently did not receive the graphics update. During Local on the 8s, it shows the old IS2 graphics, but it does have the correct LDL during segments and commercials.

Did I miss something? Did all units revert back to their old graphics or just this one?

Edit: Nevermind, it mysteriously changed back to the new graphics. That was weird.

Hey Al.  I noticed the same thing with the IS2 up here in Albany, NY. I agree that it was weird.  So you're not the only one who saw that.

Right, right..  Sorry I meant the 36-hour text forecast... and now it's only 24 hours.  My bad.

So after about a week of the new Local On at the 8's... I REALLLYYYYY think they should eliminate the opening slide with the "Hello" message on it and also eliminate the last slide with the "Summary". It would allow for a consistent use of the hourly forecast and close up radar. Even when there's an alert. I'm noticing now when there's an alert, instead of cutting out a pointless hello message slide, they only show today's forecast and not tonights, and they also eliminate the hourly forecast because there's precip in the area and have to show both radars. Just get rid of the pointless Hello slide and summary slides so we can have more weather

micvachon, I could not agree with you more!  That hello screen, in my opinion, does absolutely nothing for the viewer.  I also noticed that tomorrow's text forecast was eliminated too.

Sorry if I'm a little late to the "comments" party, but overall I think it looks good!  The graphics and animations look much more modern than they were before.  I do have a couple of comments however that may be some of the experts on here could help out with...

  • During the LOT8s, is there a plan to change up the background images?  I'm in Albany, NY and cactus's and dessert scenes don't seem to fit..
  • In the previews, during live shows, I saw that the time and temperature rotated (above TWC logo), similar to the previous HD LDL.  Would be nice to have that for the main city, as there are now several cities and towns in the rotation.

Thanks,
Chris
