General Discussion / Re: The Pot Belly Stove

"Shocked and saddened" is an understatement, and frankly, I can't think of any words to truly express how I felt the moment I heard the news. Though the shock is starting to wear off, the loss of Martin is an enormous one, to this community and the weather community as a whole, and he will be greatly missed.

Even in a time of great loss, this community will most certainly triumph over its sting. Though it's been a few years since I was last active on here, if there's any way I can help keep TWCT going, I would love to know. There's a wealth of history on the site and these forums, and I'm sure Martin would love to see it preserved.

OCMs & Personalities / Re: New OCM - Keith Carson

He's not bad. I like him. I do think he's really skinny though, but has a good personality.

Keith found this and tweeted it. Oh my.

A joke indeed. I use the AccuWeather Firefox add-on (b/c the weather.com one is STILL incompatible), and they rarely even get my 3 day forecast right! <_<

Heck, I've seen them say there were storms here on the current conditions...when the skies were virtually clear for hundreds of miles. How does that even happen? :club:

General Discussion / Re: Your class schedule...
« on: August 17, 2011, 05:26:28 PM »
Finally got my finalized schedule. Yep, I'm gonna be up to my face in homework. Classes are full-year unless otherwise stated.

1) Marching/Symphonic Band (Long)
2) Honors Biology I (Huff)
3) Honors Algebra III (Henry)
4) Honors English II (Joiner)
5) German II (Plowick)
6) Health (Long) (1st sem.) / Computer Applications (Ross) (2nd sem.)
7) AP U.S. History (Rackley)

Computer Applications is literally just a filler class for me. I'm going to "learn" how to use PowerPoint, Excel, etc. <_<

Ha-ha, nice. :) Ana, that's the strikethrough Tyler seems to dislike. :P

I'm feeling a bit better now. After seeing my class schedule, having some therapy, and just spending more time outside despite this awful heat, I don't feel as stressed at the moment. However, here's something I would like to know: Do any of you wake up in the morning with nausea? I have some degree of nausea every morning, but it was really bad today. I have to skip breakfast often because just the sight and smell of food only make it worse. Any of you guys feel like this, too? I may have to see a doctor about this if it persists.

It's rare that I wake up with such a feeling (and rarely do I eat breakfast), but I know what it feels like. Every Sunday evening, I have dinner with some of my family at my grandparents' house. Even if I haven't eaten a bite since just after church (and thus should be hungry, knowing the bottomless pit of hunger I can be), just seeing or smelling the food makes me feel a bit sick. It's a weird feeling, and I've always wondered the same thing.

General Discussion / Re: Casey Anthony trial and verdict
« on: July 07, 2011, 08:46:53 PM »
Honestly, I do understand the jury's decision to find her guilty only on the count of lying to a police officer, as others have stated here. There was a reasonable doubt that it was Casey herself who killed Caylee, and that the death was intentional. As far as we know, it could have been her story that she drowned and Casey's father covered it up. Since the jury couldn't agree on proving her guilty, we need to acknowledge that this is the way our justice system works: innocent until proven guilty.

Personally, I believe that Casey Anthony was guilty of murdering her daughter (yes, intentionally) and should have been guilty on all counts. However, I would rather her have not faced the death penalty. No matter how satisfying that would be to some people, it would not be the correct punishment. Of course, neither the death penalty nor life in prison would have brought Caylee back, but I believe life in prison would have been more appropriate. Let her sit in jail and think about what she probably did.

It would be interesting to see how letterboxing would work with the Intellistar. Unless they come up with a way to start scrolling the current information within the letterboxed screen.
It would probably essentially be the same as longform thats produced in HD, on the live shows, but with the current SD LDL instead of the HD LDL, and maybe the squeezeback being unchanged, but I dunno..

So...as suggested, they could pull a CNN and pretty much only run one LDL (the HD one) and letterbox all content produced along with the LDL? If that's the case...I like it. If they letterbox with the SD LDL like on some long-form, ehh.

TWC Fan Art / Re: Weatherlover's Artwork

Nice! I love a mixture of STAR's in an emulator.

I'm glad you liked it Matthew, I tweaked some things around in the picture below.

Very nice! But I think the font in the L3rd headers may be a bit on the small side. Still very nice combo of many STAR versions though...love it! :)

Once again (do I have to say it?)

I am actually the operator of the SKYWARNAL Storm Center and I am planning on running a live feed of weather broadcasts and prerecorded programming (for the overnight hours) and then getting a Weatherstar.
He isnt lying.. you should be lucky to come across an authorized VideoCipher II so you can receive TWC over satellite and so the Junior can download data.. also, its virtually impossible to get a Jr reconfigured for your area

Yep. After it has been used, it's pretty much a box. :P

CityVille on Facebook is a lot of fun...
Never had the patience for those types of games :P

Same here...and assuming this is also by Zynga, I can already tell there'd be trillions of notifications, wall posts, and other annoyances.
