OCMs / Former "storm consultant" Jamie Simpson

Remember him? Used to be on the channel in the late 90s. Anyhow, been up here in Dayton for 15 years, but maybe for not much longer

OCMs / Re: Dale Eck appears on Weather View

Dale was on a couple weeks ago during one of the severe weather outbreaks. Also, is Will Annen still with the network?

Storm Stories, Twist of Fate, Weather Caught on Camera, and Storm Riders aren't bad programs and very much weather related. Garbage like Epic Conditions, Weather Ventures, and Peter Lik(which sucks :D) are things that belong on Travel Channel. NBC is part owner of that channel and should move those dookie stains over there

If you want a good description: Rescue 911(from CBS back in the day) combined with Storm Stories. It's a decent program imho. I think it makes too much sense, so it won't fly with their target 18-35 demographic imho. At least it cuts out the reruns on Friday nights also.

OCMs & Personalities / Re: Carl Parker Now Dr. Forbes' Right Hand Man

If this is the case, why hasn't Forbes taken a much needed vacation? I'm concerned that man is gonna land himself in the hospital. He hasn't had a day off since February.

Cantore, Abrams, Bettes, and Roker are probably signed for life with that channel, the rest are probably going to be shown the door before long. Hate to say it, but I bet Viv Brown is the next one to hit the deck.
I too am worried about her! :(

i could give you a few reasons why she can't be touched.. although i rather not specify.. :)

Well, if you were going to go there, they let Eboni Deon go

WeatherSTAR Tech Support / INTELLISTAR 2 outage in Dayton,OH
« on: June 04, 2011, 01:38:36 PM »
Time warner is no help. How can I get the local forecast id in this situation? Because it would be different from the SD channel version, right?

I've had nothing but garbage and lies from them. I might just file a complaint with the BBB or FCC and make it real tough for them. They probably deserve it.

The "star" I'm referring to is the new one narrated by Cantore. It rolled out around May 5th and was fine until a week ago. I think a lightning storm took it out more than likely

Jim is pretty much the "face" of The Weather Channel, so I HIGHLY doubt they will let him go. ;)

As for Stephanie, heck, is she even around at TWC anymore or on assigment somewhere else? Who does WUWA now? I never watch it (nor will I) to find out.

But it is sad that these "classic" OCMs are being laid off. I'm just interested to know WHO TWC likes and WHY they like them. For example, why are Jen and Adam the ones hosting the Summer Beach Party? I like them both...I think they would do a great job, but WHY are they the ones hosting. :dunno:

If you need any further evidence of Cantore being their "poster boy", watch the new ads they have with him. They make him look like a football player entering the arena. Instead, he's walking into a Cat. 5 hurricane

Cantore, Abrams, Bettes, and Roker are probably signed for life with that channel, the rest are probably going to be shown the door before long. Hate to say it, but I bet Viv Brown is the next one to hit the deck.

Local Forecast / 1989-90 music request
« on: June 05, 2010, 09:26:17 PM »
I even used the old forum, and the  new ones, and still can't find it

The song started out with some drums and other instruments, then went to a horn/trumpet deal for about 30 seconds. Had sort of a Kenny G ring to it. None of the Kenny G ones posted were it, though.
