OCMs & Personalities / Stephanie Abrams
« on: March 27, 2013, 08:53:45 PM »
Starting a new topic because well...the other one was kinda...old.

The last time I saw Stephanie was when she was permanently moved to New York City for WUWA, which made me sad but at the same time it was the right thing to do because during that time oh my goodness, she just goes to NY every single day.  It's been forever since I've seen her, and I'm a morning person now...so I'm wondering if she's still around?

don't just say "go watch it yourself" because remember I live in a different timezone compared to 99.99999999% of you.

Would it be possible to add a skype contact icon under our post info (& a field to add our username in our profile settings)? I'm pretty sure the majority of you all have skype since WLM was merged with it, so for me I find it completely useless to add my address in the WLM field now.

That is all, y'all.

Everything Else TWC / weather.com isn't weather-y anymore
« on: November 21, 2012, 02:01:18 AM »
After such a long time not following TWC, I wanted to check to see how things were doing. The first thing I did was...go to weather.com. Honestly, my visit to the website was poor.

What happened to the weather stories? What happened to the "city with the best weather?" What happened to advertisements of events with good weather? Most of all, where's the weather?

To me, weather.com is more like discoverychannel.com because apparently the time I came to the site, I was welcomed with an article about sexless animals and how they can survive, as well as what vaccines do dogs really need. I mean...that's not weather. The least thing I want to do on the website is just check what the weather will be like for tomorrow.

I'm not really reviewing, I'm just basically saying from a visitor's perspective...what would someone think when they visit weather.com? Also, before you go all like "HUURRRR IT'S ALL NBC'S FAULT. THEY DID IT LOL", remember that it's not just NBC, yo.

I'm surprised that there's no discussion about it, so I'll just leave it to y'all to discuss and what you think of the site now.

Programming and Graphics / LIFEGUARD!: Southern California
« on: February 06, 2012, 10:33:54 PM »

Oh look, a new TWC show about MY HOMELAND. :3

It actually looks pretty interesting to me. Lifeguard: Southern California is basically about the SoCal Lifeguards and their daily rescues & stuff; it's not their ordinary day at the beach. ;)

Finally, TWC cares for California! I was hoping they would showcase something like that...despite the other non-weatherlike shows TWC debuted, but I think I'm quite excited for this one.

please no smacktalk about this. it just looks interesting in my perspective. show some luv for socal :P FINALLY GETS ATTENTION <3

OCMs & Personalities / Tom Niziol Joins TWC
« on: January 05, 2012, 02:18:12 PM »
http://news.wbfo.org/post/long-time-buffalo-weather-service-meteorologist-heads-weather-channel?ft=1&f

National Weather Service meteorologist Tom Niziol will be having his last day tomorrow, and will retire. Buuuut he will try a different part of meteorlogy by becoming a replacement to Paul Kocin a winter weather expert for the Weather Channel.

Article does not say *when* he will start at TWC, but I assume he'll start probably next month or so. idk.

Discuss, yo~

General Discussion / 9/11/01: It's been 10 years...
« on: September 11, 2011, 12:17:03 PM »
We're having a similar discussion like this at another forum, so why not have a similar one here?

Well, today marks the 10th anniversary of the worst day that has occurred in America: 9/11.  2,996 or so people died in these horrible, horrible attacks, and today we remember the heroes that did what they could and the day we reacted to this awful situation. Today, we pay respects to the fallen innocent victims, and we thank the heroes with their service. Keep the families of the victims in your thoughts and prayers, as they are going through a tough moment.

*moment of silence*

So, post your thoughts, memories, or anything you'd like to discuss about today's anniversary. Instead of having to get everything cluttered at the FP, I think a new topic is best. ~

Questions, Comments, Suggestions / Suggestion: Revival Rule
« on: August 28, 2011, 04:19:57 PM »
I remember making a topic about bumping topics and stuff....well this is sorta similar to what I'm about to shout out say.

I've noticed that this thread was done almost three years ago, and some guest went ahead and bumped it. Which made me scream thinking she's pregnant, but turns out that this guest was just there to spam. >_> Wouldn't it be possible that there should be some sort of a "rule" about reviving threads that are really, really, really old? Not like 60-days-old threads, but 2-3 year-old threads?

Discuss. I'm tired of getting bummed by super old threads that make me think they're new topics.

OCMs & Personalities / Rumors about Steph & Mike
« on: August 06, 2011, 08:52:05 PM »
I've decided to take this discussion from the FP to here since it sorta bothers me to see TWC discussion on the FP. Don't ask..

Anyways, it was announced on Friday that the Abrams & Bettes Facebook page is being deleted, as announced:

Quote
A big thank you to all of the 10,000 of you who have followed us on Facebook. Today will be the last day for the A&B Facebook page. Please continue to like Stephanie Abrams and Mike Bettes on their individual pages. Have a great weekend and thanks for being dedicated weather fans!

...then rumors are going around (which I can't seem to find proof of). But I guess it turns out they are NOT splitting up. They're just cleaning up their "social network" by deleting those unnecessary pages that we've been liking for no reason that they've been creating for each special/show/series. The A&B page is one of them, as well as prooooobably Twitter (I think I figured why they stopped following me on twitter. :( )

Which is good, though... I remember Stephanie updating FOUR pages (the A&B, her own page, Weather Proof, and I believe WUWA as well) It's pointless to have that many pages.

So yeah, better news is that they're not splitting...if anyone is still concerned. I should start watching them this week, xD

Let's discuss~

I only came here to make this thread.

Our awesome Site Designer, Jesse aka jtmal0723 turns 22 today. You know how much is that in cat years?

1.7!

Haha, I calculated that...yesterday? xD

Well, anyways... Happy birthday, kitty. You've been a great friend, even though nowadays we don't talk a lot. But we should, really. xD Have a great 22nd birthday and eat lots of kitty cake! Have fuuuun~

Programming and Graphics / Twist of Fate
« on: June 02, 2011, 12:12:18 AM »
http://www.weather.com/tv/programs/Twist-of-Fate.html

Not sure if this is a new show or not, but this primetime show debuted on TWC today, called Twist of Fate. It's similar to the famous Storm Stories, only that this show focuses more on extreme-extreme weather stories. Today's episode is about two commuters in Chicago stranded in a blizzard and have 18 hours to get out or they may suffer hypothermia.

Discuss~

TWC and your Cable Company / TWC HD in El Centro (yay!)
« on: May 28, 2011, 03:59:57 AM »
I forget the TWC HD forum doesn't exist anymore, so I guess this is the right board?

Anyways, I just wanted to say that this ferret now has TWC HD. It's so...prettier in person. .___.

But I'm still a bit bothered that there's no TWC HD in San Diego, even though it's a big city. Oh well, at least I can enjoy the best of HD once a month or so! ^__^

Questions, Comments, Suggestions / Topic Bumping...
« on: May 18, 2011, 02:12:19 PM »
I'm really unsure about this. I want to recreate some activity on a few boards but the topics I had in mind were already made and have been inactive for more than 50 days or so. Is it alright if I do bump them or is it best if I go make a new thread?

I know, I sounds like a total newbie when asking this. But I just want to be 100% sure since I'm active again.
