Original post: I will be trying my best to keep my stream of Weatherscan up until the retirement day on December 5th. If you're interested in seeing the unit retired live on air as it happens (if you don't have Weatherscan being retired that day), stay tuned! I will also have the archive footage afterward.

Emulator Videos / Triple C TWC's Emulations
« on: October 08, 2017, 10:57:16 AM »
It's been a while since I've posted emulation work here, so I might as well separate my threads on TWC Artwork and Emulation videos (I'll be posting recreations of other TWC-related stuff in my old artwork thread soon). Here's some of my more recent work with my IntelliStar 1 emulation (arranged from my newest to my older ones):

Emulation for Gulfport, MS - Hurricane Nate (October 7, 2017)

Emulation for Key West, FL - Hurricane Irma (September 9, 2017)

Emulation for Gulfport, MS - Storm Alert during Hurricane Irma (September 4, 2017)

Emulation for Hattiesburg, MS - mainly a graphics test for my 2004-2005 IS graphics pack (July 8, 2017)

Emulation for Hattiesburg, MS - mainly a graphics test for the IS emulator's 2005-2007 graphics pack (June 3, 2017)

General Weather Chat / The PMX 1500 (Pictures!)
« on: September 03, 2017, 11:10:53 PM »
I managed to find a photo of 3 PMX 1500 units from a Shaw headend in Canada:

Here's the link if anyone's interested:
https://www.flickr.com/photos/hpocus/4035116441/in/album-72157622517449425/
If you look at it from the link, it's in an album with a few other neat headend photos- I've never even seen a PMX photo before so this is new for me (and probably a lot of others too).

On a side note, I'm sure sunlightreport from many years back would have loved to see this  :rofl2:

« on: July 18, 2014, 05:09:36 PM »
I found this product guide that might help with any new features: https://web.archive.org/web/20030528081623/http://rhino.twc.weather.com/affiliates/tech_support/display/product/weatherscan_local/Weatherscan_Local_2-0_Product_Guide.pdf It features things I didn't even know were on the XL Weatherscan!  :)

Here's a WS3000 for Gulfport, MS.
Note: I didn't fill in the time, and I couldn't find the monthly precip. :whistling:

« on: June 23, 2014, 11:55:59 AM »
I'm attempting to make an emulation of the 3000 but I don't know the NWS zone for my area. Anyone know how to find one?

Help and Support / Fatal weatherscan emulator problem??
« on: May 23, 2014, 12:53:32 PM »
I tried running the emulator after finally getting every config finished. It displayed the screen that said Weather Star XL and it ran as normal. Then, an error message popped up and my cursor started glitching out. I had to shut down my computer. What happened??

I have been waiting for weeks for someone to authorize my info (username/password) after I sent the info to TWCToday via PM. Is the emulator version being developed or what?

Local Forecast / Connecting a WS Jr. To PC
« on: April 07, 2014, 11:16:12 PM »
It says very clearly in my manual that I needed to connect them via null modem cable and when the PC powers on to press enter 2 times. I did this and it did nothing to show up the crawl message terminal. Any help?   :dunno:

Below is a very quick drawing of my setup. (I draw WAY better in real life.)

Local Forecast / Station ID segment? Should it return?
« on: April 01, 2014, 11:51:27 PM »
Should the station ID segment on TWC return? I would be happy for it to, since it gives info such as the STAR ID.  Anyone else?

Local Forecast / WxSTARs Below the 3000: Has anyone ever recorded one?
« on: March 13, 2011, 12:41:02 AM »
I've never heard of a I or II being put on TWC Classics or just being plain recorded. Is there anyone in the world who has?

« on: January 29, 2011, 06:03:31 PM »
:hmm: I don't know how they got the camera in position when they recorded WeatherSTAR 4000's or other Local on the 8's. Could someone tell me Pl0x?
