Local Forecast / Tony Davilio - Psyche
« on: April 07, 2020, 11:03:50 AM »
Hey guys, does anyone remember where that song Psyche by Tony Davilio (played on TWC on Sept 2009) was available at? I know someone sent me a link a long time ago but I've lost it. I think it was also known by the name "Twister?" Please and thank you!

Link to song for reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7diQj9GDJw

General Discussion / Charles Abel-Lear 1980-2019
« on: November 09, 2019, 03:53:07 PM »
As some of you may have heard already, Charles Abel-Lear (The Weather Chazz) passed away this past Wednesday, November 6th at the young age of 39, according to multiple posts from family members and friends on social media. Little is known at this time regarding the cause of his death, but he will be missed by all of us, as he has been one of our biggest inspirations with his expansive footage, knowledge, and graphic design work. I would have never realized how big this community is if it weren't for him (as well as Matt, Nick, and friends) when I discovered TWC Classics back in 2005. Let's also remember his hard work into putting together the well-known WeatherStar 4000 Simulator project we all know today, as well as his subsequent work, in and out of the TWC fan community.

Sending condolences to his family...

General Discussion / Re: The Front Porch

Hey everyone, good to see some of yous around. I still check these boards every now and then, but like most of us from our time, my interest in TWC has faded over the years, combined with being busy IRL (graduated from college, working full time, etc).

Weatherscan is gone here in Chicago as well on XFINITY. I notice that last night.
All Xfinity weatherscans were decommissioned in late 2017.

Local Forecast / Mick Mahan - "Beyond the Sky" (2006)
« on: May 15, 2019, 05:37:51 PM »
Thanks to Spotify's Release Radar, I came across "Beyond the Sky," which played in August/September 2006. It is in fact "Keep on Truckin" by Incognito, from their "Just Chill" album. Not sure if it had been released on other platforms besides Spotify yet, but just a heads up. B)

Heard "It's Been Too Long" by Nick Colionne (from June 2004 I believe) on the WFMZ AccuWeather channel a few days ago.

For what it's worth, all the Network Music songs are in the Killer Tracks library.

Local Forecast / Re: "December Snow" by Dover
« on: April 08, 2019, 04:57:04 PM »
I managed to get a hold of Timothy Bright, the artist behind Dover, on this site.  Long story short, he lost the masters to his two songs that played in 1998 many years ago. So I guess we can add them to the "never to be found" list, like "Hello There" and many others during that time frame. :(

This is news, big time. years ago I bought or downloaded over 200 songs by CC Gilmore/Samuel Lincoln (Incognito/Frank Josephs/Soul Cafe on amazon and other sites). I mention because still 15 years later I havent ID'ed at least 5-6 songs by CC Gilmore/Samuel  Lincoln from those two particular lists, March-April 2004. I may or may not have this, will have to search
I've narrowed down to those two since I found "In the Sun," which is on Incognito's Millennium album as "Night Rider." I believe we've also found all the Samuel Lincoln songs except for "In The Pocket." "Down To It" is "Down With It" from Street Smarts, so that leaves those three.  I've looked through all the libraries I know of that carry these songs and found nothing that match that video though...I'll keep searching

Bringing up an old thread here, but as some of you know videos from the March-April 2004 timeframe have been practically non-existent until recently.  wxArchivePA on YouTube uploaded this video of one of the CC Gilmore songs, which I've narrowed down to either "In the Spring" or "Right on Top."  So far, I haven't been able to find this song on any of Incognito's albums or the known production music libraries.

Weatherscan Discussion / Re: Any WeatherScan units still in operation?
« on: March 14, 2019, 01:30:58 PM »
Blue Ridge (central/east central PA) and Grande Communications (Texas) still have some units. There's also Frankfort Plant Board's Weatherscan (ehatt600 on youtube uploads videos regularly), and I believe Mediacom has a few scattered around the country.

Figured it's worth mentioning, yesterday was the 10 year anniversary of the debut of the "v2 IntelliStar." Time sure does fly...
This is the first video of the v2 iStar, from when mine was a beta.  October 9, 2007.  Includes the last v1, Evening Edition (After Dark), and the first v2.

Very nice find...thanks for uploading! B)

Wow, they failed big time with those icons...what's w/ the Tornado one? And they actually bothered to have an almanac built in to the 36 hour? I think the DTV LF's have more info than the IS's now! :o
