Since there has been some (confirmed?) talk of OCM moves, let's keep all the talk to one place. Bopping through all the OCM threads is going to get confusing, fast.

Hey you guys, I don't want to turn this thread around, (if I did I'm sorry) but I was just on my Twitter and I found Jim Cantore there. There will be major changes for him as well...Here's what he said on his Twitter.
Getting ready to move to mornings in March. Looking forward to sharing weather stuff and hear about what you see coming down from the sky

Watch Jim Cantore become the new YWT anchor... If this is the case, I don't mind at all whatsoever! It makes YWT watchable again! :dance:

So this basically means I won't be seeing him outside of recordings anymore; I only catch about 10 minutes of YWT about three days a week, and that's it.
Oh well, maybe I'll just be recording YWT more often. :P

But you are right, I might be one of those people that don't remember Jim in the old days. I started watching TWC in '03.

So apparently Jim Cantore is gonna be in Parkersburg, Iowa for Tornado Week (at least tomorrow). If he's out on the road all week, then I guess Friday was the last Evening Edition with Jim.

Do we know that Jim is going to YWT? AFAIK, we only heard he was moving to mornings. That could mean First Outlook, YWT, or Day Planner, or even on one of the weekend morning shows.

We have no idea what show Jim is moving too. As usual, once word got out assumptions started flying.

On Twitter, Heather has just confirmed that Nicole and Kevin will be the new hosts of YWT.
Still no word on where Jim will be going.

Since Evening Edition will be no more, do you think Paul and Alexandra will still be doing the weather late night (after WC-A&B?) I've been wondering about that.

According to a poster on the Eastern Us wx forums, Bill Keneely will now do the weekend afternoon broadband forecasts and will do the weekend overnight shift on-air.

weather.com just updated the schedule grid. The new weekend OCM schedule is:
5-7AM Weekend View: Samantha Mohr, Alex Wallace
7-11AM Weekend View: Betty Davis, Kelly Cass
11AM-2PM Weekend Now: Carl Parker, Heather Tesch
5PM-8PM PM Edition Weekend: Adam Berg, Kim Perez
11PM-2AM PM Edition Weekend: Adam Berg, Kim Perez
I checked the bios page and Bill Keneely will also host PM Edition with Adam and Kim though his name isn't listed on the main schedule page.
Another interesting thing is that Jim Cantore and Kevin Robinson are the main hosts of Your Weather Today and Nicole Mitchell is actually the travel analyst still.

Betty and Kelly? That makes no sense at all. Bill should be on mornings, not evenings! I think Adam and Kim would make a pretty good pairing though. IIRC, Kim had worked evenings before (but during the week) until late 2002.

Bill is the last remaining original OCM. Good as he is, (and he is) recent history doesn't look good for him. TWC is doing their best to get rid of all the great "old" talent.

Correction, the only remaining original that we actually see on air. Stu Ostro is still there. He's a senior meteorologist now, and very seldom appears on air. :biggrin:

I think Samantha may have let the cat out of the bag. At 5:45 CT, she said, "I think Jeff Mielcarz knows his weather; he's going to Ft. Lauderdale...relocating there...boy he's smart; the weather is so nice there."
I think Jeff's "big news" is that he's leaving TWC. :cry:

I don't recall you saying that. :unsure: All I remember you saying is that Road Crew was being cancelled, but Jeff was staying.

Yes Mike, I said Jeff was being cut. You all swore they'd not do that because he'd just become a meteorologist. You all speculated they'd put him in the studio in some capacity or another.

Jeff has finally confirmed via Twitter (http://twitter.com/jmielcarz) that he will be moving to Fort Lauderdale, FL and yes he will be leaving TWC as well.
This is what he said on his Facebook
Someday I hope to move to the equator ... I couldn't move far enough away from the snow :-). I'll be the weather/host of a brand new morning show starting in April ... it streams live every day - so I'll post more details once I'm there ... and no ... no more TWC :-) ... we've parted ways amicably though I assure you ... so who knows what the future may hold ... just needed to get a little more personality based stuff under my belt! Thanks for the nice comments ...
