Title: Speaking of salaries
Post by: JBC on October 09, 2010, 09:04:34 AM
Speculation is that high salaries may contribute to OCMs being let-go. What is the salary structure?   I imagine there is a tier structure in place where some of the top OCMs make signicant higher than the rest. Would there be 2 or three tiers. Plus longevity plays a part in higher salaries as well.

What would be the top 5, the median, and the bottom salaries in dollars?    I mean guessing something like 250k and up for the top, 100-125K for the medium, 70-80K for the bottom.

The weather channel was similar. A few made big bucks, the majority made a decent salary and some... ok salary.

decent salary 100-200 K
ok salary 50-100 k

I really hate to bump this topic, but I have been wondering lately, how much does Jim Cantore make? I would probably imagine he had to take several pay cuts to stay with TWC. Also, what is the average starting salary of a new OCM? I do know that ABC's Sam Champion makes around $1.5 million, would Cantore be paid in the millions?

New OCM's probably make 50,000-70,000... If Jim is in the millions, well  :thrilled:
