Hi friends! I wanted to let you all know that tomorrow is my last day with FOX Carolina. I will start a new job with The Weather Channel in March – so while I’m leaving the Upstate, I’ll still be on your television! It’s been a pleasure bringing you all the forecast each morning, and I’ve really enjoyed getting to know many of you on Facebook. You’re in great hands with Kendra and Andy – they are great meteorologists, so stick with the FOX Carolina Weather Team! Thanks again for a great three years!

Now how in the world did I manage to randomly run across this information? Ironically, it was once again it was the American WX forums. :P

Great......a younger Crystal Egger.
-
She sounds pretty good!
-
Will she replace another ocm?

Will she replace another ocm?
IDK, but my guess is she might start off filling in for Crystal Egger once she's on maternity leave. That's just my opinion though. :dunno:

Woo, another PA native coming to TWC!

Yeah, I like her. I wish her all the best.
-
Well, this is good, I am looking forward to seeing her. Does anyone know the exact date she'll start on?

I'd guess Julie Martin might get the offer to sub for Crystal and Alexandra gets the weekend 11am-2pm time slots that Danielle is doing.

Alexandra Wilson's first OCM shift is on Friday.

I noticed that on TWC people are referring to her as "Alex Wilson." Do you guys think it was her choice or TWC forced her to be referred to as Alex? Her voice also seems drastically different on TWC then she did on FOX Carolina.

They made her into Crystal Egger's clone from day one unfortunately.
On a serious note, the name shortening is odd and I'm more inclined to believe it wasn't her choice.

Well, didn't they refer to Alexandra Steele as "Alexandra"? Now I can't remember. I mean, I know Alexandra is a long name to say, but c'mon. If that's her name, then that's her name.

When she was at TWC and since going to CNN, Alexandra Steele is always refereed to as Alexandra on the lower thirds.
-
I liked her when she was covering WCL after the Moore tornado. She was very professional and serious about what had happened, it's tough for a new gal like her to cover something like this so soon. She was the only one reporting from the live desk.
-
Alex just posted on her Insta that she's hitting her 10 year anniversary with TWC this week. I'm shocked she managed to stay on the network for so long.
-
Working with Dave Schwartz (RIP) early on helped her out plus she has a great sense of humor, now. When she first started she was kinda dry. With Bettes, she's flourished. Love to see it. I just wish WU aired at night vs the middle of the day. Part of me misses Weather Center. Lol

One thing that's annoying with current Twc, is how fast they run thru all their content, you can barely even see what they're talking about. I know its quicker to see stuff online weather.com but what's the use to tune into the channel that you can't see the forecasts before they're onto the next thing? Taking 1:30 to talk temps or foggy conditions or explaining something out wouldn't hurt too much.
