According to A&B's tweet, TWC now has a new OCM. Chris Warren...

It looks like he's starting today...havent seen him on the air yet. Hope we'll see him in the future.
-
Already looks better to me than their more recent additions like Todd Santos.
-
Just TWC continuing their policy of eliminating the experienced good OCM's and then turning around months later and hiring new ones. On another note, the guy looks decent. I hope he is good

Chris Warren is the meteorologist for the weekend evening editions of KING 5 News at 5:00, 6:30, 10:00 and 11:00. He can also be seen on NorthWest Cable News where he began on air during the summer of 2003.
Prior to his work at KING 5 and NWCN, Warren was forecasting weather at KSBY-TV in San Luis Obispo, California, and KTVZ-TV in Bend, Oregon. He loves to tell a story whether it’s about the day’s weather, a football game or a recent adventure. In past positions he brought viewers stories from out in the field as a reporter and photographer, and from the newsroom as a news anchor and video editor.
Chris is a member of the American Meteorological Society (AMS) and the National Weather Association. He holds the AMS’s Seal of Approval for Broadcast Meteorology. He completed the three-year Broadcast Meteorology program from Mississippi State University after earning his degree in Broadcasting from Washington State University with a minor in psychology.

or.... they're doing cost cutting and getting rid of the higher tenured OCMs and hiring new ones for cheap.

I think we already decided that this is probably what TWC is doing. ;)
-
Yes I have no doubt thats what they are doing. Im just wondering if they stretched themselves too thin too fast.
-
Chris Warren is an Emmy Winning Meteorologist from a top ten tv station in the country and the TWC is lucky to have him. We miss you in Seattle Chris...Good Luck
-
Glad to hear he is a good OCM! I'm looking forward to seeing him on air.
-
Wow, I really look forward to seeing this guy. He looks friendly and experienced. He also looks kinda like Mike Bettes to me.. I can't wait to see him!

Wow, he must be very good! I definetly look forward to see him.

His background looks pretty good from what I see, so I'll be looking forward to seeing him on the air.
-
Anyone have an ideal date on when Chris will debut? Is he still training and rehearsing in the HD studio? :dunno:
-
Chris is making his on-air debut doing the Weekly Planner on Day Planner. Betty Davis says he'll be on PME tomorrow from 5-8pm.
-
Awesome, I got this recorded. I'll upload it this afternoon when I get home, if anyone's interested.

hai Chris Warren on PM Edition Weekend
-
NBC should have rehired some of the several people that they laid off first.... They finally figured out that they stretched the staff way too thin to work.
-
Yeah... It sounded like they went wayyyy too far with that...

The graphic cutting off Chris' face makes him look like Two Face.

I gotta say, Chris did a great job reporting live out at Orange Beach, AL for Ida. I caught some screenshots last night.
My, isnt he a cutie?

You crack me up, Ana!
I was kind of surprised their live truck essentially got stuck in the flood waters, and they had to bow out of a couple of lives to fix the prob. Better safe than sorry, though!
-
Chris is at Nags Head, NC tracking this awful storm that's pouring the mid Atlantic.
-
Yeah, he was good here in Seattle, sucks to see him go because the guy that replaced him is awkward and boring.

I am a fan of Chris Warren. He reminds me of Adam Berg for some reason.
He and Danielle Banks would make a great team on a show (I am pretty sure they worked together on Halloween?)

They did PM Edition from 5 PM ET to 8 PM ET that day.

They were decent together. Perhaps they would do well on the late PME during the weekends :) That would be a good time for them imo

NW Washington's loss is The Weather Channel's gain if we can find him amongst all the garbage bumpers and promos they've added in recent years. The current Weather Channel is so cluttered with everything but weather it has lost much of its appeal. With that aside the best to Chris Warren. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up at KNBC in Los Angeles.

I agree with you, they lost the WEATHER in THE WEATHER CHANNEL.
Why would you think he would end up in LA? He just got started about 3 months ago (I think?)
-
With TWC getting less focused on the weather, I can see the channel possibly being renamed to just "TWC". After all, this happened with GSN, AMC, TLC, and CourtTV/truTV too.

Yeah, that's basically what I feel it might happen pretty soon, maybe next year... but that's just a guess.

Chris has just been announced as Kevin Robinson's replacement on Weather Center. Sucks for Ana and other fans of Chris since he'll only appear like once per hour on days that Jim and Alexandra are both there. :noexpression:

Why would it suck for me? I get to see him 3 times a day!
And whenever Jim or Alex are off, Chris can be a fill-in. YAY!
-
It's sad to see Kevin leave. However, I will enjoy seeing Chris Warren every evening. Since he's young, he's a little more hip and fun without overdoing it. That's why I like him.

Guess who has a facebook page?? (http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/pages/Chris-Warren/216213441545?v=wall&ref=mf) :thrilled:

Chris Warren is a great field reporter. He seems to bring a lot of fun with his live shots.

It sounds like he's already made a few big fans around here after being on the job for just four months.

He is decent in the field. A lot more character than when in the studio

I have to say, he can be a little shy in studio as well, but I know he can do it!

That's probably because of all the adrenaline live reporters get when they're out in the field. Especially in cases of severe weather.
As for him being "shy" in studio, that'll go away when he gets more in tune with everyone else's on-air personality. I know he's been at TWC for a few months now, but he's only just started working (mainly) on Weather Center. He'll get a better feel for what the "tempo" is like.
At least that's how I feel when I produce newscasts. I'm more shy and reserved when I start out at a new place, trying to get a feel for what everyone's like and what direction the show is going in. Once that happens, I become more confident in myself and I step out of my shell and try new things. I think that'll happen for him. (Just my opinion, lol!)
ETA: I actually think he's very good.

Twitterers, not sure if I announced this before, but Chris Warren has a twitter. Follow him @Warren_Chris :)
