Maria LaRosa hired by TWC

TWC has hired KYW meteorologist Maria LaRosa as a main anchor. The article doesn't say which show she'll be doing but she will be moving to Atlanta soon.

Now this is something I will be looking forward to. Her personality at CBS3 is great imo. I doubt we would see her on air on TWC before May imo. She's still pregnant.

I love Maria LaRose too. She deserves the position and it would be great to see her as an OCM on TWC! Although this news came out as a surprise

Sarah Wroblewski & Danielle Niles are awesome talent.

Danielle Niles, a Weymouth, Mass. native, joined NECN in Nov. 2008 as a meteorologist. She was previously employed at Weather Services International in Andover, MA, as a forecaster for private energy companies. “I am absolutely thrilled to be working in New England, forecasting with such a dedicated and talented Weather Team at a news station that is well-respected across the entire region," Niles says. “I have had a passion for the weather ever since I was a little girl, and working as a broadcast meteorologist has always been a dream of mine." Ever since she was young, Danielle has shared an enthusiasm for severe weather, blizzards, thunderstorms and hurricanes to name a few. She has even been storm chasing in the Midwest where she saw her first tornado last year. Niles is a 2006 cum laude graduate of the University of Massachusetts/Lowell where she earned her bachelor's degree in atmospheric science, and was captain of the women's varsity soccer team. She also earned a master's degree in meteorology at Florida State University and is a member of the American Meteorological Society (AMS).

I haven't been much of a fan of KYW 3 since Larry Kane left in late 2002. Ever since, they've gotten rid of a lot of the other anchors I enjoyed watching, which led to me switching to WPVI and later WTXF for my local news. But since when did KYW started using that casual set with the comfy chairs for their newscasts?

Look forward to seeing her. With the exception of Chris Warren, I've felt let down by most of TWC's recent new OCMs (bland Samantha, the uh's of Todd, and the mostly radio/video OCMs Elliot and Thibodeau [to be fair about the last 2, their roles make it difficult to make a great impression]).
