Just had the tv on TWC during LOT8's and saw Jennifer Lopez. Is she back for good or just doing freelance work?

She probably is freelancing, she was let go from KXAS-TV back in March 2012 (the station she left TWC to go to in 2008)

Wow! :blink: I didn't see this coming, but am so happy right now! Jennifer was definitely a top-notch OCM, and even if she is just doing freelance work at the moment, I am glad to see her back with a job.
I didn't realize she was "let go" from KXAS last year. That's the Dallas/Fort Worth NBC affiliate; I remember no longer seeing her but didn't realize the reason for her departure. That's too bad, but I am glad TWC has decided to take her back (for now). :happy:

Has there ever been a case like this happen where a OCM left TWC then came back?

This is enough to make me come back to make a post! I can't believe she came back. I wonder if she's living in the Atlanta area again or if she's just there to work every once in a while.
I see she's now sporting the "TWC approved" look instead of what she used to look like before she left TWC in 2008. :rolleyes:

She was one of my favorite OCMs before she left in 2008, I used to remember seeing her and Carl Parker on Day Planner all the time. What a flashback!
I'm probably going to hell for saying this lol, but she looks quite gorgeous in that sexy dress. I never noticed this before when she left previously.

That's exactly what I was thinking. The last time she was on air at TWC, the network was a lot better (well, compared to now.)
I wonder if she's been working at TWC since March 2012, when the affiliate KXAS in Dallas, TX laid her off.

I have to admit, I was pretty surprised to see Jen working at TWC again. She is one of my favorite pre-2008 OCMs, and I'm so happy that she's working at the network again :happy: :biggrin:

Looking back, it seems to me I remember a period when Marshall Seese was not on but I'm not quite sure exactly when it was. I want to say 1991, 1992, somewhere along in there.

I, too, am very happy to see Jennifer Lopez back on TWC. She was one of the best and I sure do miss the "old" TWC meteorologists. They were knowledgable, professional and classy and some were so funny. I wish they'd bring back more of them and let some of these newbies go.

Jen is subbing for Vivian today. I guess it's safe to say she is a regular fill-in OCM.
It would be nice if TWC put out a press release or added her bio back to weather.com.

I saw her on TV not too long ago, my reaction was holy crap! That was a surprise! :thrilled: You mentioned she got pulled in for the Summer
There's been a major shakeup at WSB in the weather department, one of our veteran mets (25 years) David Chandley decided not to renew his contract because he wants to work at a news station where he can be Chief Meteorologist. The current chief met, Glenn Burns has joked around that he's not retiring anytime soon. There's rumors going around that he may replace the Chief met from their rival FOX station Ken Cook who is retiring this month. Also WSB just hired a female met to work weekends named Katie Walls, but she's been filling in during the week for Karen Minton who's on vacation.
Even if Jennifer Lopez is temporary, I hope WSB eventually hires her full time! She'll get more airtime there than she will on The Weather Channel lately. <_<
EDIT: I'll see if I can get a clip of her during the 6pm newscast since the noon newscast is being preempted for the FIFA World Cup/Wimbledon today.

This made me think about something, is Jennifer technically still a fill-in for TWC? If so, is it possible for a local news station to hire her full time if they wanted to?
I REALLY want WSB to bring her on board permanently. She would be a great addition to their weather team. :)

I wonder how long her "extended stay" at WSB-TV will last. She was on this morning before I left town today. I also saw her on TWC either yesterday or Thursday. I think it was yesterday though.

I was surprised to see Jennifer on this past weekend for post Christmas holidays, but then again I shouldn't have. The weekend mets took over most of all the shifts Christmas week and Jennifer Lopez popped in during the weekend to help out the weekend mets again. I guess she has a similar contract with WSB that she has with TWC. She's just called in when needed. This was the first time I had seen her on WSB since October. (the last post I just quoted)

Jennifer Lopez is on WCL right now with Chris Warren. I don't watch TWC frequently, but I didn't think she was still with the station anymore. I guess she's just one of TWC's many freelance OCMs?

Jennifer on WCL with Alex Wallace right now. And wow! I didn't recognize her at first pwith the short hair and glasses! Glad she's still at TWC. I guess she is still just a freelancer as she doesn't seem to be on regularly. Why does WCL seem to have a different female OCM every day???

It did seem like Jennifer started reappearing all of a sudden. Pretty much since Thanksgiving, she has been seen on Weather Center Live almost four days a week. Two weeks ago, she was on every single day Monday-Friday.
