I think we can say it safely now, Jen Carfagno has finally gotten an anchor spot after over 7 years on TWC. Jeff Morrow also made a surprise mid-week return to the show, revealing that there will be no separate Travel Analyst; Jen will continue with those duties, as well.
IMO, only having two OCMs on FO kind of hurts the format of the show. The show had a "bigger" feel to it with a team of three. Now with two anchors, it seems like just another show in many aspects, although it does still retain its special, unique features.

Congratulations to Jen, she for sure deserves the spot. I agree with you, Steve. There should be a travel analyst, and I am thinking Cheryl would have done a great job doing just that.

I agree. It does really affect the format of the show. Although to be honest, I don't watch this show 99.9% of the time because of the schedule, but I'm sure those that watch it each morning will miss the old format.
I think all morning shows should have three anchors........Day Planner?

No doubt in my mind that besides being someone I can enjoy listening to her describe the latest weather
very articulately and doesn't annoy viewers without any gimmicks or schticks, Jen should be able to add to
the quality of the show. I agree it is a shame that there is no travel analyst. I really liked that element of the show.
But, they better make up for it somehow.

I go back and fourth with her haha :P. I thought she was pregnant a couple months after her coming back from maternity leave..so IDK. could be.
I also keep going back and fourth with Betty Davis too.. But she's just got a cute little gut I think :P

I recorded all 3 hours of FO this morning because I've yet to see it in HD. I noticed two things...
1) they don't to a tease before the open.. why? The open seems to rushed then...
2) Jen doesn't seem as "lively" as she was when she was exclusive to the travel desk. Maybe it was just this morning, IDK. Anyone else pick up on this?

The only reason why I even thought of bringing the question up is that I saw her in full view at the projection wall during First Outlook and I could not help but wonder.
I normally don't want to jump the gun and start suspecting the OCMs for pregnancy every time I don't see flat abs, ya know?

From what I understand, that concept for First Outlook is discontinued..

Yeah, I don't hear her laugh much if she does and is on the quiet side. Yet Jen is very pleasant and easy to listen to as far as her providing information on the latest weather topics. As I said previously, I think she really knows what she's talking about and doesn't get enough notoriety for her weather knowledge and expertise.
On an off note, loved Jen's outfit today. I don't think those were short shorts at all. They looked like they were knee high at most. And my God, she looked fabulous, too. And of course she's cute, Jae! ;)
Oh, and I had noticed that Jen had completely colored her hair to a rich chocolate brown. No more of those pesky streaks around her bangs.
Not that I really pay serious or close attention to what people wear or how the appear, but I have to say I like the way she's looked since First Outlook went to HD. Maybe she purposely did that now that she's in vivid HD besides regular SD.

Today's outfit is VERY suspicious. It looks like her top comes in under her breasts and then juts back out...you know...as if a certain something would be causing such a bump that would, say, mature for about 9 months until Jen disappears for a few months and comes back without it.

no less than 2 months, but no more than 4, unless she put in a special request for an extended maternity leave , which isn't paid most of the time (the extension)

Feels weird that I won't see Jen live again until I'm back at college after she takes leave soon. I still wonder if she's gonna get shuffled to a new timeslot when she gets back. You never know given all of the other changes going on. :\

My chorus teacher this past year worked up through her due date,and ended up having the baby almost a week later..so anything's possible..She could make it through her due date and not have the baby on air..although that would be interesting

IIRC, she worked up until the first week of October in 2006 and had her baby later that month. She returned the first week of January 07.

Today's technically her due date, so today could very well be her last day for 3 months.

I hope she doesn't end up leaving First Outlook to go to another show when she returns in September. Right now, the First Outlook team is the only pairing that hasn't changed since before the acquisition.

If you want to get all techincal about it....the pairing of Abrams and Bettes hasn't changed. Everything else around them has (name, time, show, etc.)

While I have not seen her do a full segment, Jen still seems like a very good OCM. :yes: I can't wait for her return and wish she could move to a show later in the day so I can see her.

Speaking of maternity leave, I have some funny story that happened a few years ago.
Though not on TWC, JC Monahan is a meteorologist on WCVB-TV (Boston, ABC), and in 2006, she got pregnant, due in October. So when that time came around, she left in about mid-October. My first thought was "Wow, she's due this month, don't worry. She's just taking the day off to give birth and she'll be back tomorrow like it never happened." She didn't return until about early January, but I NEVER knew about maternity leave about the time.
Just imagine that, "Hey Bill! I need today off so I can go to the hospital and give birth! Don't worry, I'll be back tomorrow! Thanks a lot for giving me today off! Bye!"
Anyhow, best of luck to Jen and her kids. Her daughters will turn out to be very beautiful, and we'll all know where the looks came from. :P

Though not on TWC, JC Monahan is a meteorologist on WCVB-TV (Boston, ABC), and in 2006, she got pregnant, due in October. So when that time came around, she left in about mid-October. My first thought was "Wow, she's due this month, don't worry. She's just taking the day off to give birth and she'll be back tomorrow like it never happened." She didn't return until about early January, but I NEVER knew about maternity leave about the time.
Just imagine that, "Hey Bill! I need today off so I can go to the hospital and give birth! Don't worry, I'll be back tomorrow! Thanks a lot for giving me today off! Bye!"
Anyhow, best of luck to Jen and her kids. Her daughters will turn out to be very beautiful, and we'll all know where the looks came from. :P
Ah,I feel ya.I had a teacher in 5th grade who was pregnant and due in April.I thought,ok,cool.She'll have the baby the first week of April,and she'll probably be out 2 weeks or so,then she'd be back.Little did I know she'd be gone for the rest of the school year.I didn't know about maternity leave either until a month before she left she said she'd be gone the rest of the year..I was only 10,so I didn't quite get the whole concept.But I was a little embarrased about the fact I didn't know that..haha :blushing:

Yeah.Once she had the baby she shrank tremendously.She's looks really good though! It's nice to have her back! Now maybe I'll actually HEAR my alarm tomorrow and be able to see her. :hammer:
