WOW! I'm shocked! So, where are they going put him On Air??? Or are we going to lose a few OCMs? If not, any more OCMs and They'll have to cut some longform! TWC has been on a roll during the week since DTV lost it. Of course longform was on at 7PM CDT last night. Wonder if DTV or their customers will blink any once news about Dave gets out. Or, is Dave back in order to get DTV back?

I guess Network Weather in dead. Wasn't Dave the founder? If not, I'm mistaken.

Interesting how he's back, is there a correlation with him being back and the talk of Network Weather "buying"  TWC? I know he was a fan favorite, seems like a response to the DTV fiasco

Something tells me he'll probably only be a fill in though. I wouldn't get too excited. Where are they gonna put him? Nowadays (except WUWA and MR) the OCMs seemed to be randomly shuffled around.

I was definitely not expecting that at all.  Shocked, but pleasantly shocked! I thought once these veteran ocms are gone, they're gone, never to return.

That's wonderful news.  I've never heard of a laid-off OCM returning to the air, but it will be so nice to see him on TWC again!

Yeah, but even that's not the best comparison. Jennifer left on her own free will, TWC let Dave go which I think many will agree was a stupid mistake on their part in the first place. I think with the whole Network Weather going belly up, DTV/TWC feud, and the threat of other networks competing against TWC fueled this. Why else would you suddenly invite who was a 20+ year OCM veteran of your network back to your network after kicking him to the curb nearly 6 years ago?

I know that makes me sound like some wild conspiracy theorist, but this announcement seems a little too convenient and of a coincidence especially considering Dave was largely apart of one of those companies that was expected to compete against TWC before those plans were scrapped. It feels like one of those "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer" situations to me. Hopefully that's not the case and they genuinely and sincerely wanted Dave to come back, but again the timing of this is just curious...

I am curious to see how TWC (and Dave) handles this.  I am assuming Dave wants to come back, although I wonder if he has any hint of doubt based on the fact that TWC got rid of him?  And how is TWC going to treat him?  Are they going to pay him as much as he was making when they got rid of him, or are they going to start him with a lower salary?  If they choose to do the latter, then Dave must really want to come back.  Because, after all, money was the reason they laid him off in the first place.

No matter the reason, I am glad they're bringing him back, although I also agree that we probably shouldn't count on seeing him as more than a fill-in at the moment.  Cutting other OCMs or removing long-form are way over the edge at this point.
