Cheryl Lemke apparently filled in for the weekend morning meteorologist on WXIA 11 Alive this morning, according to this poster:

That's great to know she's finally popping back up again despite after what happened to her at TWC. At least she's doing some forecasting again. Great to see she isn't giving up.
-
Agreed. I was just thinking not too long ago about about Cheryl Lemke. So glad she finally got a job now at the same area
-
Wow, I can't believe it she applies at the one Atlanta news network I never watch and it's not because they are a NBC network, I just don't like their format. I'll have to try to catch her on air. Congrats to her nonetheless, I know it must to have been hard for her the past 2 years. I might start watching just to see her again.
EDIT: Here's a link to her bio on WXIA-TV (11Alive) website, picture is N/A

Tibits I caught of Cheryl during the 1 hour newscast this morning. :)

You're welcome Ana, here's another from this evening during the severe weather we had that's a lot shorter than this one. It also includes the news closing.

Good for her! She was certainly one of my very favorite "classic OCMs" from my earliest days watching TWC, and her absence is very obvious even today.

Thank you so much for posting that. I am glad that Cheryl Lemke is still in the meterological profession, though I wish she was still at TWC.

She is doing a great job there. I only saw her a few times on TWC, wish she was still there(who wouldn't?!?!).

I captured another video of Cheryl this morning using the "W.I.Z" (still think this thing is kinda dumb), I haven't seen her since she started on this network back in July. I guess that's the drawback to being a "fill-in".

She is more worthy than a mere fill-in spot.

So very true.

That's why I wished she could have worked at our ABC affiliate instead, I bet they would have gotten her a permanent spot somewhere on the weekends or weekday afternoons. Before their current weekend met Brad Nitz joined them a few years ago, 2 of the 3 veteran mets alternated the different shifts on the weekend. Since that network is expanding to a 3 hour newscast (taking the 4pm hour of Oprah's timeslot come May next year), It would be good if Cheryl was at that network to be on during the new 4pm newscast, but that's just wishful thinking on my end.

If you dont mind me asking what did happen to Cheryl?

She broke the new cardinal rule at The Weather Channel: thou shalt not be a middle-aged woman.

Yes, everyone at TWC must obey that rule, or be doomed! :P

Cheryl Lemke was doing some field reporting in the heavy snow/sleet last week. I tried to upload this last week, but my wireless connection kept randomly dropping out. Since I got my router yesterday, I didn't have that problem today. It's not a long report, but I thought it was interesting to see her do some reporting outside. Not saying that she didn't, but I can't recall a time she did field reporting when she was at TWC, then again I have a fuzzy memory sometimes anyway. :P

Before I watched this, I thought that was Cheryl on the right of the still shot at the very, very beginning with blonde hair. :P
But that's cool, thanks for sharing!

I am so happy that Cheryl found more work in broadcasting. :)

I didn't realize it until now, but Cheryl has been at WXIA-TV for almost a year now. It doesn't seem like it's been that long. This is from Sunday, June 5, 2011.

So Cheryl's still out there doing what she does best. ^_^ Is she still a weekend meteorologist?
-
Good to see Cheryl working again. I wonder where Lisa Mozer is?

Unfortunately, she's still a fill in. She was filling in for the weekend met Chris Holcomb. This is the first time I've seen her since her field reporting in a snowstorm we had in January. I remember seeing on her bio from their site before they redesigned it that she was labeled as a meteorologist/weather producer so I guess she's working behind the scenes most of the time when she's not on air.
-
Well, it's good to see that she is still doing the weather from time to time, still miss her being on The Weather Channel, though. But, at least she is still in the meteorological field, even though she's a fill-in. Maybe she'll get a promotion in the future.

Cheryl Lemke
Hi Everyone, I just wanted to say that I enjoyed getting to chat with you and sharing weather info. Unfortunately my contract at WXIA-TV did not get renewed and so I will be leaving the station in a couple of days. But I wanted to let you know that I still plan to keep in touch using my personal e-mail and Facebook account. FYI, if you know of any broadcast jobs in weather, please drop me a note.

I just saw that. What a shame :(
-
What a shame, I wish her the best in finding something else soon. Ironically enough, the chief meteorologist Paul Ossmann from the same station also didn't have his contract renewed. His last day was Friday, he's being replaced by some guy named Mike Francis from Little Rock. (Looks like a Jim Cantore wannabee)
Want more irony? I just recorded this a few hours ago, but I wasn't aware she was leaving. I almost didn't, but I figured I don't she her that much as it is so why not so this will be the last clip I guess.

She wont be on there much longer though  :hmm:

That's sad that a dedicated professional isn't given the respect and appreciation she deserves.
But, unfortunately, it's all about money. Her employer would rather have less-experienced employees with lower salaries than those with more experience, but who command more money.

As well as people who are blond-haired and "hot looking." <_<
I really like Cheryl and her on-air performance. It's sad people like her don't get much respect by employers. Would be nice if she were on WeatherNation as I think she would fit on there perfectly.
-
Unfortunately this happens a lot in TV..such a shame.
I hope she can find another job real soon!

Me too. Cheryl has always done her job professionally and with dignity. I hope she gets a job, maybe on CNN like Alexandra, or another station.

What yall said about the changes in TV news and presentation is true. The tabloidization continues...*SMH*
-
I really hope Cheryl is still job hunting.. WTSP is losing two meteorologists next month, and this might be an opportunity for her, seeing that they will only be left with one :(

I am about 90% sure she is now at WSBT in South Bend, she was on the 10pm, I'm recording the 11pm and should know for sure in the morning....
Edit: twitter confirms, possible clip this weekend

That's great news! I wish her the best of luck up there. It's WXIA-TV's loss, they let go a classy professional woman.
