Hello everyone, I wanted to start this poll because I'd like to know how long you would prefer the holiday playlist on Local On The 8's to run. I'm running this poll until September 30.
-
I think Thanksgiving and December 1-5 are good times to start the holiday playlist, but Thanksgiving may seem a bit early.

Yeah, I think Thansgiving for the list to start is pushing it. December 1 is just perfect with me, though.

(Off-topic) A radio station in my area (WLIT) starts playing Christmas carols in November and plays them and nothing else throughout the entire holiday season.

I agree with Martin, Thanksgiving is too early. However, a local radio station here starts on Black Friday for those who go Christmas shopping.
I think December 1st would be a great time to start the Christmas music. I consider the Christmas season to be the entire month.

I think this should be moved to the Local Forecast board since it has to do with TWC music.
But anyways, around mid December (12/13 or so) is when the playlist should start.

Matthew, please stop posting topics in the General Discussion that fit within the TWC boards. I've seen you do this on several other topics that I've had to move. This topic, for example, clearly belongs in the current LF board.

2 weeks into December is fine for me

I think December 25 is too early for the holiday playlist to end. I think it should end December 31. In addition, January is too late for the playlist to end.

...but Christmas would be over by then. :noexpression: December 26th is ok.

But maybe it could end on the 31st to help alleviate the post-Christmas blues. But then again, the 26th is acceptable too.

True, but it shouldn't end so early on Christmas like it has been at noon or 1, it should keeping going until Christmas night sometime during the primetime list and then transition back over to the regular playlist.

Yes, it is kind of cheap to end the Christmas playlist that early. It should continue all of Christmas Day, and into the overnight. Then, the next morning, it can transition back. But I don't mind seeing it start the same time it has been starting, which is the middle of December.

Yep, my mom will have that on when the christmas music comes on WNIC. But I would like the playlist on TWC to start around December 17-18.

December 17-18. I'm not in the mood for Christmas music yet before then, plus the holiday playlists have always started around that time since 1999. BTW, why is the poll set so it closes on September 30th?

October 1.

I always get into the mood for Christmas music as soon as November rolls around, but I think around the 12th - 15th is better.

I was kind of thinking about e-mailing the results to TWC on October 1, but I'm starting to think that's not such a good idea. I'll probably leave it running indefinately.

Wow! That's nearly 1/4 of a year of Christmas music. :o

December 1st IMO.
