Here in marlton, we have Digital preferred package with HBO on one TV, expanded basic on two other TV's, and high-speed internet. In Bensalem, I have expanded basic on all of the TV's, high-speed internet, and digital phone.
Hmm that sounds about right. For premium internet (20mbps/3mbps) and digital cable with several HD DVR boxes and service the bill i up to about 150. With your telephone and extra services I can see you having such a high price
and they are ripping you off at $15 per HD DVR. Direct TV only makes you pay one DVR free and 1 hd fee for as many boxes as you have you only per $5 per box.
I have a TiVo HD, with 2 CableCARDs, which for all who don't know what they do, they're basically PCMCIA sized cards that are pretty much your cable box, each card provides 1 tuner, thus for a total of 2 in a Series3 or a TiVo HD. The first card is free to rent, the 2nd is $1.50 a month to rent. Using CableCARDs gets you a $7.90 credit on your bill per month for not using their equipment, thus essentially they're paying you to use your own. Now, my TiVo service is $12.95 a month, but you get their premium guide, podcasts, etc (visit their site for more info), and I pretty much upped the drive in my tivo to 500GB, thus essentially i can record 64 HD hours or 607 SD hours... Now, if only my Comcast provided TWC HD
In the long run a TiVo is a better investment for me, may not be for you though.
My bill for the month is the Digital Preferred Plus Promotion for 6 months $ $74.99, 3 other boxes for $14.85/mo total, $1.50 for the Cable Cards, $7.90 credit for using the CableCARDS, $6 for the HD service, $42.95 for the ~10mbps (average) internet. $3 for the cable modem rental, $1.78 for taxes, thus comes to about $151/mo if all goes right. Those totals won't add up to $151 at the moment due to the change of service (threatening to cancel your comcast ftw) but that's what my cable averages out to.
I apologize if this makes no sense whatsoever... it's late for me...
