Attached is a Ryan Farish tune that I found on my computer. It was unnamed, though, and I don't know what song it is. Does anyone here recognize it?
Your help is appreciated!
-
Are you sure that's Ryan Farish? I don't know of him using any trumpet/flugelhorn-sounding instruments in his songs.

Yes, I'm pretty sure it is. As I recall I downloaded this song from mp3.com back when you could download for free.
-
That's definitely by Ryan Farish. Not sure about the title but it could be "Music" again not sure despit me being a ryan farish music fan  :wall:
-
Wow, that doesn't sound anything like him.
-
Listen again then, or listen to some of his other earlier tunes for comparison. :whistling:
-
It has to be from the In The Day album. It doesn't match with the few In The Day songs I have, though.
-
I'm almost certain its NOT from that album.
-
I just got a PM from Ryan and he said its not his song.
-
It is his song, I'm certain of it. Maybe he just doesn't remember it, since its from one of his first two albums.
-
You can PM him that's what he told me. It sounds like him though
-
Which reminds me, why didn't he PM ME? I'm the one who posted the song!
Anyway, I'm not going to talk to him about it, because he's going to say the same thing to me, which won't make me very happy because I know better.
-
That song sounds nothing like Ryan Farish. But that's just me.
-
How can you say that? Are you really listening to it? It sounds JUST like him. If it isn't him, then somebody does a fabulous imitation.
-
I'm 99.9% certain that the song is from the "Traveler" cd which was released around the same time as Daydreamer. However, everything about that disc seems to have vanished, as I can't find any info on it at all at this point.
-
If that's Ryan Farish, then he did a 180 with his style from the earlier days. I'm not familiar with all of his songs, but I was around during his mp3.com days and don't recall him having anything other than that ethereal/cool newage sound. I mean the style of the song you posted is completely different, IMO. Different instruments, different sounds. Matter of fact, it sounds more like a smooth jazz song. If it is him, though, it certainly wouldn't be the first time an artist has surprised me in that way.
-
I was going to say this yesterday, but it almost sounds like it could be 3rd Force...
-
Nope, I'm 100% certain its not them.
-
Do you know which year was when all of Ryan's old mp3.com tunes were available?
-
I think they'd been there since 2001 or 2002, but I found them in 2003.
-

I agree w/Gary. Doesn't sound like them either.
-
Victory! Gary, the artist is Paul Hardcastle and the song is called "Lazy Days." I KNEW it sounded familiar! :twothumbs:
-
Ahh! Thanks Matt! :twothumbs: :twothumbs:
Now the next question-was the song ever used on TWC?
-
I don't think so, at least from 1998-2006. I just searched the playlists on weather.com.
-
Yeah I knew it wasn't use din that time period. I'm wondering if it was used prior to that, and I'm sure Matt would know the answer. :sunglasses:
If it wasn't used I guess I'll get rid of it..though I would like to know why the heck it was on my computer!
-
Wow that's an awesome song! When was it used on twc?
-
I searched this artist on TWCC and no results showed up there either.
-
LOL, now I'll forever be wondering why I had the song in the first place.

No, TWC has never used his music. Paul Hardcastle is an ASCAP artist.

I don't know. Paul Hardcastle is a pretty good artist, so maybe that's why you downloaded it. ;)
