I was just over at the Emulator forums and someone posted a thread claiming to have seen a 3000 still in action. Is that possible?

No. TWC doesn't send out the cue feeds (that tell the STAR to do things) since it was discontinued in 2004.

Didn't think so.
The genius who posted that responded and said he mistook the Jr. for the 3000. :rofl2: :rofl2:

LMAO! Yep, some really smart people over there. :rofl2:
-
Who was it?
-
Go take a look for yourself. :D
-
ah he confused it as a Jr and aplogized
-
Good. I really hear that 3000's were discontinued in 2004 so there is no point in issuing it at all
-
the difrrence between the jr and 3000 is that the text is all capitalized in the 3000.
-
Yeah, but the 3000 has a dark purple background but the Jr has a light purple background :D
-
JR has a blue background... It just looks purple because of different color settings in the videos, or on the end-user's computer. It's blue.
-
I don't think so
-
He's right Krishnan.
-
Ok. It's not blue to me, but I think I agree with Gil :)
-
If you watched it on TV it could have alot to do with the TV's picture settings (you know, color, tint, that kinda stuff). Same for if you watched it on a computer monitor.
-
I own a Jr. Trust me, it's blue. ;)
-
I thought you had an Intellistar

I thought you had an Intellistar
He does, but he purchased a junior unit off of ebay.
-
How much does that cost?
-
How much does that cost?
A lot.
-
In the thousands. Plus it's illegal.
-
There's nothing illegal about purchasing a Jr. on Ebay. The only thing illegal would be trying to use it. ;)
-
The retail price of a junior is $500, though I'm sure it was a lot less if he bought it off from eBay.
I've seen 4000's on eBay as well.
-
I thought all STARs were property of TWC, making any such STARs on eBay stolen goods.
-
Property of TWC, yes. Stolen goods, perhaps, but that's not guaranteed. Either way, its not illegal. Ebay wouldn't allow them to be sold if they thought it was illegal to do so. Trust me. I've had listings yanked for the tiniest infractions..infractions I didn't even know existed.
