Apparently, the IS was sent an update sometime last night or early this morning, because this morning, I noticed all the text (except for the title bar and the map text) has been changed from blue to black, making it easier to read the text. Anyone else notice this update on their IntelliSTARs?
-
Yep, the text on my IS has been updated.

Yep same here.
-
Same as well. I like it. Its easier to read along with the already hard-to-see bright background
-
I liked the blue text. It matched a lot better with the rest of the graphics. I didn't have a problem seeing it.
-
I don't really much care either. Both are fine with me. :sunglasses:
-
If only they could replace the radar maps. The radar is getting quite old
-
The black text... it's just tough to get used to it. I personally liked the blue text better :(
-
I don't understand why they decided to change the font color black first. There are many other much more important issues that need to be fixed, such as the lack of drop shadows on the radar and forecast maps, and the issue with the NWS logo flying on the weather bulletin screen.
-
If the color settings on your TV were set correctly, the whole presentation looked perfectly fine. it was not hard on the eyes at all, nor was the blue text hard to read.
-
and the issue with the NWS logo flying on the weather bulletin screen.
According to Chazz, that issue has been fixed.

Yes.

Flying NWS logo?
BTW, I honestly do not like the new IS look.. I prefer the old blue background and boxes, this new update is a great advancement but I personally have preference on the older look.

Flying NWS logo?
Watch how the NOAA logo and "The National Weather Service" text flies in and out on the Weather Bulletins screen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDOdl8bFCGo

Agreed. The new look is more modern, but is too bright. My favorite version of the IntelliStar graphicswise is from 2005-2006, and 2004-2005 product and flavorwise.
-
I agree the new background is too bright. In addition the music fades in more quietly than the ISv2 used to
-
Does anyone like the black text? I do. It's better to read and I don't like the blue text. I only want blue on the background and oceans.
-
I thought the black text looked awkward with the background at first, but I got use to it very quickly.

I don't like how the removed the time lapse indicator on the radar. My mom always has a hard time understanding what radar data happened exactly when.. Kind of a stupid move on TWC's part. <_<

The time indicator has been gone ever since the winter precipitation was added to the radar back in January 2007. IMO, they should add the time indicators to the radar whenever there is no wintry precipitation to display.

Yeah!
