This may have been asked before...but how come some IntelliStars have Ad crawls displayed during the local forecast segments while others don't?

it's completely up to the cable company from my understandings.
That is correct. Sometimes TWC puts their own ads onto the Stars, though, such as the ones advertising Storm Stories, TWC HD, etc.

As of today, my IntelliSTAR is finally showing the monthly precipitation for my area on the almanac tabs. Finally, hasn't seen the monthly precipitation on the LDL since before the HD relaunch.

I've got that as well.

As of now, the precip in "Irving" (according to HiRad/TruPoint) has reached 2.25 in.

Got some news everyone its about the Intellistar!

i got in contact with someone from The Weather Channel about the Narration (i know its not going anywhere) but here's what Lee Pettit, Manager of the Fall River account of The Weather Channel.

We are planning some product enhancements (software upgrade) to the IStar this summer and in fact, are already talking about developing the next generation of Star.  Hopefully one of these two initiatives will fix the problems you are having.

she's probably referring to the final release of the HD Star...i don't see the intellistar going anywhere anytime soon, especially since it just received a so called "graphic overhaul", and if they are considering developing another generation of the weather star...then let mother nature from a tropical system in the middle of texas. :o

That's cool that it's going to receive an upgrade this summer. Maybe it will actually correspond with the on-air stuff? :P

HiRAD is really messed up right now. It's reporting temperatures in the region in the low 30s when actually temps are in the 50s.

Fine <coughs> guessing illegitament numbers that are at least close here. There must be something wrong with your unit specifically.

No, they were wrong on weather.com, too. The problem was fixed about 30 minutes after I originally posted.

Does anyone know where I can find a list of all Intellistar units that exist or were installed along with the unit ID's and locations? I am curious to know where the first Intellistar was installed and the Unit ID's for some areas around here. I am also hoping to find out which area has unit ID 22841, as there is a gap between 22840 (Lansing) and 22842 (East Lansing).

There is no official list that I know of. We did have a database here on the site where users would submit their STAR data to it, but that disappeared awhile back for whatever reason.
