That's pretty much the only difference, other than the 3000 having the capability of only showing the text and not the blue background. The products and formatting of the 3000 and Junior are the same.

Helvetica is the main font the XL uses. Yes, you would have to purchase it, but there are free equivalents.

The XL uses variations of Akzidenz Grotesk extended. The ad crawl, temperature readings, and 36 hour forecast use Helvetica Neue Condensed. The titlebar on the v.3 uses the interstate font. And yes, they all cost money.
