At first glance, yes. But if you think about it, no.
1. The fonts are different
2. The ad crawl on the 3000 cuts off before it goes off screen
3. The 3000 is much darker than the junior
4. The 3000 has been discontinued

I personally would prefer the 3000, since it has a lot of history with it. Most other people would prefer the 3000 over the junior because they grew up with it or for the same reason I like it.

The junior doesn't show a cable provider, ID, or a channel. It simply says "NewspaperL 53130" or "Radio 53140" I was wondering if the 3000 did that as well.

The "Newspaper L" thing only started happening recently, maybe within the past 12 months. I highly doubt the 3000 ever showed that. I'm willing to bet the 3000's ID hasn't changed since the late 1980s/early 1990s.
