Ads are back on the IS.

Not sure how to scale down the images, so I removed them and left the links.

But what happens if the battery runs out?

Nice to see that it's transparent around the edges, I have an OCD :/

I agree.

Also, I caught this on my LF this morning:

Seems that text is only used instead of the hashtag whenever there is a weather alert. Also, the text on the advisory scroll is now black. HUGE improvement over the previous eye-hurting red color.

The black text update seems to be on the SD feed of TWC (at least that's the case here) Were getting a Wind Advisory crawl on the HD feed and it's red text.

EDIT: Speaking of Warning Crawls, I wish they were color coded like they used to be, (orange for wind advisories,  yellow for severe t'storm watches, etc.) but with additional colors like green for flood based weather bulletins.

Interesting how the ads are now being placed in the lower right.

Also, as Tavores was saying, I also wish TWC would color-code the Weather Bulletin scrollbar.  Doing so would make the statement pop out that much more if you quickly glance and see a particular color.

I wish the alert scroll would go over the national headline scroll.  I find it a bit difficult to read two scrolling messages so close, even though the go at different speeds.

Ugh, is that an entire-ad background?  TWC seems to be using those a lot lately, especially on their mobile app.
I dislike it, but I know they probably get boatloads of money for using those.

Why am I getting totally different graphics on the SD feed as compared to those on the HD feed? I realize these were special DST/Halloween-only graphics but I did not see them in the IS2/IS clips posted above (which were captured at the same time). Like the music too!

Off topic, but I really like the first song - a jazz arrangmenet of Pharrell Williams' "Happy."  I feel like TWC could make the best of both worlds in terms of their LOT8s music if they use jazz arrangements of pop hits.

Have they always shown Special Weather Statements on the crawl? Perhaps I just never noticed before

Do you mean since the relaunch a year ago or in general? If you mean in general, they always showed SWS, but before the relaunch it was shown on an orange crawl. I *think* I've seen a SWS since the relaunch though.

Yes, special weather statements were shown on crawls ever since the WeatherStar XL.  They were on brown scrolls on the III and 4000.

Last year's relaunch, however, doesn't make any color distinctions between the different advisories anymore, so a tornado warning now looks exactly like a special weather statement.

"Special Weather Statement" "Weather Bulletin" and "Winter Weather Bulletin" were some of the few that were shown in orange on the XL
